‘No’ is a complete sentence.Learning to say no is one of the most empowering things you can do for your mental health. Saying no sets boundaries, protects your energy, and reduces feelings of overwhelm. It’s not about being selfish it’s about prioritizing your well-being.

Benefits of saying no:

• Less stress and burnout

• More time for what matters

• Better emotional balance

• Stronger, more respectful relationships

Sometimes you just know something is changing.
Your priorities are different. What used to work doesn’t anymore. You may not know exactly what you want next, but you know you’re ready for something different.

That’s okay.

You don’t have to have your next chapter figured out. Give yourself space to slow down, reflect, and take the next step.

Which sign stood out to you most?

Save this for when you need the reminder. by @liathetherapist

During the healing hangout we talked about how to find the right therapist. It first starts with knowing what they do, and don’t do…

Ask the right questions and find the professional for you. That is 🔑

Did you miss the healing hangout ? Do you want more spaces for these type of conversations ?

Sometimes healing doesn’t begin with therapy; it begins with a conversation. 💚✨

In honor of Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, BE Impactful Foundation and Mixy Events brought the community together for Let’s Talk About It: The Healing Hangout.

It wasn’t a seminar or group therapy. It was a judgment-free space to slow down, connect, and share real dialogue around mental wellness and practical self-care. 🌿

Thank you to everyone who showed up as they were, shared their experiences, and made Sunday morning so special. A huge thanks to our partners at Mixy Events and Lov3 Houston for helping us create a space for collective healing! 🫂

What was your favorite takeaway from the morning? Let us know below! 👇

Honored to be back at Prairie View A&M University @pvamu for the second year speaking at the Mental Wellness Conference.

Thank you to @pvamucafnr for the invitation and for creating spaces that prioritize wellness, connection, and meaningful conversations. I always enjoy engaging with students, staff, leaders, and community members who are committed to strengthening mental health in our communities.

As a therapist, I know that healing often starts with the conversations we’re willing to have. That’s why I love opportunities like this—to help normalize therapy, increase minority mental health awareness, and continue breaking stigmas in our communities.

I’m excited to be stepping back into more speaking engagements and continuing this work beyond the therapy room.

30-ATE ✨

This past year has been a beautiful reminder that growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it looks like choosing yourself, setting boundaries, trusting God when you can’t see the whole picture, and continuing to show up even when the journey feels uncertain.

Year 37 stretched me, challenged me, healed me, and strengthened my faith in ways I never expected. I’ve learned that growth and gratitude can exist at the same time—that you can honor where you’ve been while still making room for where God is taking you.

As I step into 38, my heart is full. Full of gratitude for the lessons, the people, the experiences, the answered prayers, and even the prayers that are still unfolding. I’m learning to trust God’s timing, embrace the process, and give myself grace along the way.

Chapter 38: Alignment over approval. Faith over fear. Growth over perfection. 🤍 by @liathetherapist
