14 years of FoodBlessed. ❤️ And somehow, we’re still here.

FoodBlessed turned 14 this year.

We didn’t really celebrate. The country was at war, and celebrating didn’t feel right.

But today, I want to pause for a moment and acknowledge what 14 years actually means to me.

Because I could talk for hours about FoodBlessed.

About how many times it seemed impossible. How many times I had absolutely no idea how we were going to make something happen. How many times I was exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, burned out… and still somehow found the strength to push a little further.

There was always this voice in my head saying:

Just try.
Push a little further.
You can do this.
And if you fail, at least you tried.

Because trying is half the battle.

FoodBlessed has been my labour of love.

My first baby.
My life’s mission.
My joy.
And, if I’m being completely honest, sometimes the reason I was completely exhausted and burnt out. 😂

But would I do it all again?

In a heartbeat.

We didn’t stop during COVID.

We didn’t stop after the Beirut port explosion. We were out in the streets and in people’s homes, among the first responders.

We didn’t stop when war came in 2024.

And we didn’t stop in 2026.

Because somewhere along the way, FoodBlessed stopped being my idea.

It became ours.

It started as an idea in a workshop run by Al Ahli Group, where I met Lina and Pierre — two of the earliest mentors in my life.

That little idea became an NGO.

And the NGO became a community.

A community of more than 5,000 people who have volunteered, donated, packed, delivered, cooked, rescued, organized, carried, driven, called, shared, opened doors and simply showed up.

Some stayed for years.

Some stayed for a day.

It didn’t matter.

They all left a little piece of themselves in FoodBlessed.

And today, I wear my FoodBlessed T-shirt with the same pride I always have.

Because I know what it stands for- real heroes are ordinary people doing extraordinary And if you don't believe me, look at what this community has done.

FoodBlessed is one of the things that makes me especially proud. From the community, to the community isn't just a nice idea.. by @libeirutmilano

In particolare, grazie a @progetto_fulgido, @genna.davide, @m_0_n_i_q, @capitooone, e Linda 🫂❤️

May Impact Report 📊

Transparency is at the heart of our work.
One week fundraising. 3 weeks of action!

This month, we’re sharing a breakdown of our impact in May— one of our highest avuibein months so far ...
made possible entirely by our community!!

At the end of April, we started fundraising for May, with a goal of 25K. We were able to raise 24.8K! 🎉

9,025 beneficiaries received essential relief support in the form of shelter, food, hygiene items, medications, baby essentials, and diapers — each individual and family received the care they needed, in all the ways they needed it.

Every number in this report tells a story of generosity, trust, and collective action.

Because FoodBlessed is a community-led organization, every contribution — big or small — directly powers our ability to show up and deliver.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for making our work possible.

Special shout-out to the incredible people who helped us raise funds throughout May:

At the end of April, as the second round of funds raised came to an end, so naturally we launched our third wave of fundraising — and together, we successfully raised $24.8K ❤️

Each of the 9,025 displaced people received food aid, hygiene kits, shelter kits, medications, and baby essentials.

What followed the one week of fundraising (which lasted til the last week of May) were three weeks of real action, real impact, and real lives touched.

This is FoodBlessed’s May Impact Report — not just numbers. Not just statistics. But love shared, dignity restored, and hope passed from one hand to another.

To every volunteer who gave their time, and every donor who gave from the heart — this was only possible because of you.

You made this happen. 🤍

Despite the ceasefire, our work is still far from over, and there are many ways you can continue supporting our mission:

• Volunteer
• Donate
• Advocate

Give what you can.
Share our mission.
Be part of something that truly matters.

Together, we are stronger. Let’s do this.

Lots of love,
The FoodBlessed family 🤍

A special thank you to everyone who donated both offline and online.

Week 7 recap update

A little overdue, but still important to share.
Week 8 and 9 updates coming soon…

Eight weeks into the war — and the cycle keeps repeating.

Every week follows the same rhythm:
Meeting and planing the week ahead.
Assessing needs.
Coordinating with the displaced families.
Securing supplies.
Preparing hygiene kits, ready-to-eat meals, monthly food parcels, shelter kits, baby essential kits, and medications.
Packing.
Sorting.
Delivering.
Then doing it all over again.

Since the start of the war, this has become part of our everyday reality.

None of this happens without your support. To every donor, volunteer, partner, and person standing by displaced families alongside us — thank you for helping us continue this work every single day 🤍

Special thanks to our amazing supporters and fundraising efforts by Melodie Saffieddine, Doris Brubhart and the donations made to us on the Global Giving platform!
