14 years of FoodBlessed. ❤️ And somehow, we’re still here.

FoodBlessed turned 14 this year.

We didn’t really celebrate. The country was at war, and celebrating didn’t feel right.

But today, I want to pause for a moment and acknowledge what 14 years actually means to me.

Because I could talk for hours about FoodBlessed.

About how many times it seemed impossible. How many times I had absolutely no idea how we were going to make something happen. How many times I was exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, burned out… and still somehow found the strength to push a little further.

There was always this voice in my head saying:

Just try.
Push a little further.
You can do this.
And if you fail, at least you tried.

Because trying is half the battle.

FoodBlessed has been my labour of love.

My first baby.
My life’s mission.
My joy.
And, if I’m being completely honest, sometimes the reason I was completely exhausted and burnt out. 😂

But would I do it all again?

In a heartbeat.

We didn’t stop during COVID.

We didn’t stop after the Beirut port explosion. We were out in the streets and in people’s homes, among the first responders.

We didn’t stop when war came in 2024.

And we didn’t stop in 2026.

Because somewhere along the way, FoodBlessed stopped being my idea.

It became ours.

It started as an idea in a workshop run by Al Ahli Group, where I met Lina and Pierre — two of the earliest mentors in my life.

That little idea became an NGO.

And the NGO became a community.

A community of more than 5,000 people who have volunteered, donated, packed, delivered, cooked, rescued, organized, carried, driven, called, shared, opened doors and simply showed up.

Some stayed for years.

Some stayed for a day.

It didn’t matter.

They all left a little piece of themselves in FoodBlessed.

And today, I wear my FoodBlessed T-shirt with the same pride I always have.

Because I know what it stands for- real heroes are ordinary people doing extraordinary And if you don't believe me, look at what this community has done.

FoodBlessed is one of the things that makes me especially proud. From the community, to the community isn't just a nice idea..
