Take a walk through my beautiful school library - a space designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of reading! 🤩

While this footage is from a few weeks ago and a few displays have changed since then, the heart 💖 of our library remains the same: a welcoming space where students feel safe, inspired and excited to learn 🙌

Contemporary Realistic Fiction (CRF): Literature that adds real-world value to learning.

This is my article that is featured in the latest Australian School Library Association’s ACCESS journal! Here I consider the use of CRF, relating its significance to key issues around diversity and inclusion, mental health and wellbeing, and the recent trend of increased graphic novel popularity and usage.

Here I focus the spotlight on a number of quality texts, including Black Cockatoo, Dirt by Sea, Stay for Dinner, August & Jones and Remarkable Remy, in order to show how CRF titles can be incorporated into learning across the curriculum.

And I’m super happy that my student’s work featured in the article even made it onto the front cover!

I interrupt Japan holiday photo showcasing, for the epic launch of Ludicrous Legends! 😆

As expected, there were laughs galore and a whole lotta fun with these talented two - Jol Temple and David Conley, at @gleebooks_kids yesterday! @katejoltemple @the_underdogs_official @thatdavidconley

And I got to share it all with my co-teacher @steph_louise312, who was there for her very first book launch! 📚✨
