Life works in mysterious ways… and every once in a while, it gives you a moment so magical you know it can never be replicated. Tonight was one of those moments. The one, the only, my idol and inspiration, Colleen Hoover, showed up in Myrtle Beach for me to surprise readers at our midnight release party for WOMAN DOWN at Bookworm and Vine. And somehow, impossibly, I got to stand in front of a room full of shocked fans and interview the woman whose words changed my life.

Colleen is exactly who you hope she is: warm, kind, and so deeply real. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully process this moment, let alone thank her enough for it. This was a gift. One I’ll carry with me forever.

May Cobb is bringing us back to Texas, where the lies are bigger, the secrets are swelling, and everyone’s blood is absolutely BOILING.

I just finished ALL THE LITTLE SECRETS and boy… 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 it is that special kind of sequel where you’re so enraptured by the characters, their fiery dynamics, and the quick-witted dialogue (which is simply unmatched) that reading it feels like a treat in itself. This sequel reminded me of Liane Moriarty’s latest, in that the characters are so damn good you’d probably love the book regardless of what’s happening in the plot. BUT, honey, if you read ALL THE LITTLE HOUSES, you know Mother May left us with the cliffhanger of ALL cliffhangers. And let me tell you, she deliversssss.

An ending with ALL the answers to ALL your questions? Check. Even MORE bitchy cattiness? Absolutely. That truly quintessential May Cobb dialogue? Oh, honey, I ate it up like a freaking bag of M&Ms.

May Cobb’s dialogue has me in a CHOKEHOLD. I genuinely do not want to part ways with her characters when I’m reading her books. Instantly one of my top 5 reads of 2026. BAD WORDS is everything I love in a novel. I inhaled this book with such strong love and compassion for these characters, and I genuinely can’t remember the last time I finished a novel and immediately thought, “Wow, people really need this book.”

It’s a slow burn will they won’t they romance underlying in an upmarket book club fiction novel, with incredibly biting social commentary on race, culture, and the publishing industry… particularly the power of a book reviewer’s words. And coming from a book reviewer myself, I just felt so freaking seen on every single page of this book. I would protect Selina Chan with my whole heart.

Where is my VERITY hive at???? 💀💀💀 I’m dyinggggg. The. Movie. My goodness. @colleenhoover it was so good. They took the book and truly made such a faithful adaptation; and it left our minds twisted and reeling just as much as when we closed the book for the first time all the way back in 2018… I mean, @katiereads.sc didn’t. She didn’t read it, we dragged her and she was traumatized as we celebrated Sue’s birthday! But the rest of us are totally shooketh. Books have always held a special place in my heart. I was reading from an early age, but when I was in middle school, the librarian handed me a copy of My Sister’s Keeper and said, “I know your mom won’t mind you reading this. It’s a fantastic book for adults, and you are the kind of student that will appreciate it.” And my life really changed after that.

Growing up and becoming a bookseller, in addition to all of the travel I do, life has afforded me so many opportunities to connect with and meet so many of my idols, but this was the first time I got to see THE Jodi Picoult speak. In the seven beautiful seconds I got to spend in her presence, I told her that I’ve been reading her books since I was in middle school and that I used to email her all the time… and she would email me back. That kind of author-reader connection set me on the path I live today.

Thank you, Jodi, for being an icon, an inspiration, a literary rockstar, and also just a great person. You opened your heart to Winston-Salem today, and we received all of your love. ❤️ @jodipicoult

Returning to Peachtree Bluff is like returning home again, and Kristy Woodson Harvey’s readers have been waiting patiently for five long years for an update on the lives of our Murphy girls! Tonight, Kristy and I sat down at @pelicanbookstore to dive into the history of Peachtree and all the ins and outs of where this remarkable series has taken her career.
