Who thinks they could take down this whoooole giant lemon meringue pie by yourself?? 🫢🍋🥧 I know the answer, and it’s good luck getting through even the 1/8th that @bigmamma.uk serve up of this NINE-INCH TALL CRUMBLY PASTRY-BASED LEMON CUSTARD-LINED LEMON MERINGUE PIE! 💪🏻 The only people who do believe they could are probably the same that boast of other nine-inch achievements, which likewise contain a lot of hot air and tend to collapse under pressure 🌾 Just a hunch. Either way, an EPIC dessert and one of the most famous in town these days if you’ve been looking even fleetingly at Instagram since 2020. Yessss I know, it’s not food, BUT I was lucky enough to get on the first run of flights up the @batterseapwrstn famous glass chimney lift, so thought I’d show you around! 🏭🤩 Very Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I realise (there’s my food link…) only instead of blasting off into space @chimneylift109 stops for ten minutes or so to take in a 360 DEGREE VIEW of London and whaaat a view it is 🙌🏻 Canary Wharf, Big Ben, London Eye, The Shard, the Thames, it’s alllll there…even if there is a fair bit of interactive guff before you ascend and maybe not *quite* enough time spent at the top?? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Idk, just a public entry ticket so no bother to me or any PR whether you go up there, I’d just recommend it. Even if, at £19 each, you might feel like your ticket should indeed be made of Wonka gold… 😄🎫 #thethamesisntachocolaterivereitheritjustlookslikeit #chimneyprovidingafullsweepoftheskyline #chimneylift109

Rate me up, when September ends 🔝🙌🏻🗓️ As the famous Green Day song goes, referring not to America’s ill-advised wars abroad, but rather how they found their iced matcha that month. A popular misconception, don’t worry. None of these places were ill-conceived though, in fact they are simply EXCEPTIONAL, you should try them just like I did:

- @ignilondon_ A fire-led restaurant surely destined for a Michelin star under @cheftheoclench . Even if you don’t like fine dining then the food here was accessible and just utterly inspired
- @manna_burgers Making burgers basically as good as any Michelin chef, I thought they were mid when I had them a few years ago but now sliding right into my top five 🔥
- @rowon5london Not destined for a Michelin star because it already has TWO ⭐️ The work of @_jasonatherton and hottest chef in London @spencermetzger that’ll set you back £250 a pop. Our birthday meal lasted five hours though, so kinda worth it
- @tokkia.world Proving that Korean matcha is a thing and actually might be better than Japanese matcha. I get that it’s love-hate stuff, matcha, but I think even the most staunch anti-matcha couldn’t help but enjoy this 💚
- @angelina.london Sooooo many good restaurants in September (okay, I cheated, this was late August) and this Japanese-Italian(!?) joint may be the best of the lot. Burnt honey butter milk bread, that’s all you need to know.

1. @panaderabakery_ Filipino leche flan-topped Danish pastry with hazelnut chantilly cream and caramel sauce centre.
2. @rise.and.bun XL cinnamon buns including NYC banana pudding, biscoff and original vanilla cream cheese flavours.
3. @farha.london Middle Eastern rose, raspberry and pistachio praline cruffin. Banana, caramel and tahini crème Danish. Chai and orange custard sugared bun.

Manna from -h̶e̶a̶v̶e̶n̶- Marylebone… 😇🍔🍞 Well, there’s bread involved here at least (one for the GCSE RE studs out there) snuggled around a DOUBLE SMASHED AGED BEEFBURGER, AMERICAN CHEESE, MUSTARD, KETCHUP, PICKLES & WHITE ONION of biblical proportions 📕 Now, I actually tried @manna_burgers four years ago and thought it was pretty mid to be honest with you (a decent smashburger, nothing more) but fast forward to them opening their first permanent restaurant in Marylebone and, HALLELUJAH, am I converted 🙏🏻 Absolutely stuuuuunning beef flavour (credit @aubreyallenwholesale the best patty in the UK imo) and I think they’ve reached that thing widely regarded as burger nirvana: a perfected McDonald’s. Which sounds weird when you’re paying £14(!) for the pleasure, but then it’s not always the flavour combo that matters most, it’s the Manna in which they do it… 👌🏻🙂 #wontforgetyourmannasanytimesoon #congratulationsmannaforfindingtheirmanor #mannaburgers invite

What can a measly 10p get you these days?? 🤷🏻‍♀️🥞🪙 Well, for seven of them next week it’ll be enough to secure MAPLE SYRUP & SALTED BUTTER-TOPPED FLUFFY AMERICAN PANCAKES no less! 🍁 A deal to celebrate @wherethepancakesare ‘s 10th birthday (see what they did there) which renders these effectively free, orrrr if you don’t like free things then how about £40(!) for their birthday 10-STACK of pancakes with bacon and blueberries?? 😮 Don’t worry, you’re supposed to share between four so actually fairly reasonable per head…unless you understandably want it to be just YOUR head going face down into them. A dessert to quell your Cardabelle-y… 😋🫃🏻🍩 Yep, one that you’ve probably never heard of, almost certainly haven’t been too, and most DEFINITELY don’t know what it is?! 😄 Because…well, what on earth is a ‘cruller’? Well it’s kinda (see what I did there?) like a doughnut-canele hybrid (bonus points if you know what a canele is too tbf) of DEEP-FRIED, LIGHT, CHEWY DOUGH, rolled in cinnamon sugar or topped in @cardabelle_london ‘s case with TORCHED CRÈME BRÛLÉE, PISTACHIO CREAM & CRUMB, BURNT BUTTER HONEY OR BLACKBERRY JAM! 👏🏻 Honestly, these guys are highly-trained pastry chefs and it shows because not only is the base product INCREDIBLE imo, the toppings are even better in many cases. They’ve actually made it into @harrods would you believe, yet somehow remain under the radar doing weekend markets at @maltbystmarket and @duckpondmarket Richmond so I’d seriously suggest you go give them a, ahem, quack… 🦆🙄 #duckmethatwasbad… #crullerdevilleishlygood #cardabellelondon

A reimagined beef noodle soup that’s a real feet of cooking skill… 🦶🏻🍜🥩 Sorry, I mean feat…oh no wait, I do mean FEET because the secret to @kungfumama_uk ‘s new 12-HOUR TAIWANESE BEEF NOODLE SOUP 2.0 alongside GINGER-SESAME CHICKEN THIGH NOODLES AND SOFT-SHELL CRAB BAO is in fact…chicken feet 🐓 Yeah, yeah, yeah, weird in the West but a perfectly delicious ingredient in a dish thought up by the sous chef at Michelin-starred @latrompettechiswick who has collabed on this with his friends the owners, one of whom is actually co-founder of @ottolenghi_restaurants 🤝 And it’s really delicious - I’m more into dry noodles than noodle soup tbf but this broth was rich, deep and just a little bit spicy. And the noodles themselves?? It’s like the year 2000 all over again and there’s a hot, new Tokkia on the market… 📱😮‍💨🍵 This one’s decidedly more Korean matcha house than 3310 to be fair, although @tokkia.world also tend to get crowds Snake-ing (man, you have to be old to get this…) around the corner for their latest release 🐍 A viral sensation when they opened in Covent Garden late last year and now bringing CORN CRÈME BRÛLÉE ICED MATCHA LATTE, INJEOLMI NUTTY VANILLA VERSION AND DOENJANG CORN CREAM, ORIGINAL BUTTERY & MATCHA KOREAN SALT BREADS to their second site in Soho 🥖 I absolutely LOVED this place when I went in December (*may* be my favourite matcha in town tbf) and they’ve come in here with an expanded selection including SIX of their - also superb - sweet, savoury and buttery salt breads. Like, that glassy crust on the bottom is unreeeeeal. Last week I had a sticky toffee pudding which I regard as the ULTIMATE in London 🔝😮‍💨 So I thought, why not make an ultimate list as well so that you can work your way through them?? Too kind, I know 🙏🏻 Oh and that favourite of mine had ice cream on - which is wrong (clotted cream is superior in all ways, don’t @ me) - but THAT is testament to just how good it was.
