Over the last 18 months or so, I’ve been developing research/passion projects with @masonhscomets High School students. Currently, I am working with @anvitha1812 centered around the correlation between neuroscience and rhythm perception, inspired by her two biggest interests, music and neuroscience. Anvitha has a unique curiosity toward syncopation.

To pursue this project, she has built a computational model of syncopation, composed musical stimuli, and blended these components to create a self-scoring rhythm production accuracy model. This approach is inspired by a recent co-authored research paper led by @aaryanvvverma , also, under my mentorship. He created a novel machine-learning model to more objectively detect chronic pain using facial expressions in patients who struggle to self-report.

‼️“NOW” marks an important step in her project: data collection!

🔔We are looking for community volunteers to participate in a short listening and tapping test to a series of rhythmic phrases.

✅When: Saturday, September 26, 9:00 AM; Mason Public Library! Additional details provided upon request!

All ages 11+ are welcome, no musical training required!

How is the season you are in shaping the way you show up in your relationship to your yoga practice as a teacher and the student!!

Season? Yep, season! Our inner experiences move through natural cycles too!

My finances didn’t change.

My schedule didn’t slow down.

I still don’t have all the answers.

But EVERYTHING inside of me shifted.

45 minutes of intense movement peaced me into the present moment and something big settled within me. Wow, I can’t explain it …just know it’s an unwavering gratitude for my life!!!!!!

@abbywaechter is “WHEEL” amazing.

Abby graduated from high school with my oldest daughter and, over the years, whenever life brought her home for a break, she would find her way into my yoga class @lifetime.deerfieldtownship!

Then she’d leave again. Go live! Go learn! Go write!

Now college grad and full-time journalist, Abby spends her days paying attention to the details and telling the stories she finds there. And somewhere along the way, she’s been quietly writing her own…..choosing, creating, and crafting a life, from the heart that speaks to her heart.

Every now and then, I get to witness another chapter unfold on her mat. Look at that wheel! I had to snap a pic during class…of course with her blessing!!

When I stepped on the field with the Middletown Football program to lead the weekly yoga summer series, I knew this was going to be @middiemagic! The team, trainers, and coaches have a posture of respect, brotherhood, and a standard of excellence that got my attention!

First week, we made an agreement:
1: To declare the breath as the master teacher in the space (no matter what) and,
2. To maintain sovereignty over our minds, allowing stillness to guide our thoughts, and the “love of self” to make us stronger!

Of course, we flowed for mobility, flexibility, and recovery!

I am most proud that they know how to find their inner calm!!!! #Touchdown! #middletownfootball is winning from within!!
