So, I’m hosting a golf outing… “The Gut It Out Open” will take place on Tuesday, October 27 at Bethpage Red Golf course with proceeds going to the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation. I’ve always wanted to host an outing, and now I found my reason to do it. This will be a scramble format outing with lunch, drinks, prizes and after party meal and drinks at Bethpage’s clubhouse included. Can’t play/Don’t play but want to help? Great! Donations, prizes and a helping hand go a long way. Reach out with questions or check out the link in my bio to learn more. More than anything else, I just want to have a good day with the people that mean a lot to me, at a course that means a lot to me, for a cause that means a lot to me. #GutItout taken in Bethpage Golf Course by @lifeoftimreilly

10 days ago, I underwent my second major bowel surgery from
Crohn’s Disease complications this year. It fucking sucked, as did the first one… and as did the prior 5 major bowel procedures I’ve had over the last 15 years. No way to sugarcoat that. I’ve been poked and prodded in every orifice consistently this year, and will continue to do so to close out the year. Spent 4 months taking overnight IV bags as I slept in shifts with constant pump alarms going off. In and out of machine testing beds. My right arms could be confused for a junkie with the needle mark residue. My left arm had a PICC line for 4 months to handle daily medication treatment. There are tables in my bedroom covered in enough medical supplies to go toe-to-toe with an emergency room. Spent a lovely 17 days in the hospital post-procedures. I put my head down, do what I have to do, ask “what’s next?” … and repeat. All of that led up to walking out of the hospital to the surgeon proclaiming me in “clinical remission.” While that feels amazing after what I’ve been through, the truth is that can last a day, a lifetime or anything between. That thought never leaves the back of your mind. The mental toll can be as hard as the physical ailments (which are as long as a CVS receipt). There is no magic pill or a clear path to a cure. If you’ve read about it or seen it on a commercial, I’ve taken/tried it. Trust me. The craziest part is that I wouldn’t have it any other way. I know I’m not the same person today without Crohn’s. I’ve changed so much for the better because of these experiences. I’m grateful to have come through it all. You begin to put a premium on the people in your life and what you do with them. One of the things I’ve cherished most is when these low points have led to others sharing with me the “thing” they are going through in life. No matter how dark times can get, we’re never alone in these journeys. Whatever you’re dealing with, Gut It Out. Thank you for the kind messages and well wishes. If you ever have questions about Crohn’s (doctors/surgeons/medications), message me. For now, I’m excited “what’s next?” can once again serve a different purpose in my life. taken in Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Health by @lifeoftimreilly

Just under 3 weeks away from The Gut It Out Open, a charity event I’m hosting on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Bethpage Red golf course to support the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. The outreach and support has been amazing. Overwhelming at times. If you would like to play, THERE ARE A FEW TEAM SPOTS LEFT before I hit capacity - which is something I didn’t expect to happen. Message me if you’re still interested in playing, want to sponsor a hole, have an idea for an on-course activation for your business/bar/restaurant, have a prize you want to donate, or want to contribute to the donation fund. Every little bit helps and is equally as impactful. I’m happy to answer any questions! taken in Bethpage Golf Course by @lifeoftimreilly

The most private club on Long Island isn’t Shinnecock Hills or one of the elite neighboring courses.

Three Ponds Farm has one member, the owner. The property was recently sold for around $35 million according to @nypost. by @lifeoftimreilly
