I love a good testimonial, but the best ones are the real ones. The unpolished words sent after you’ve opened your candid photo gallery for the first time and grabbed your phone SO FAST because an email just wouldn’t cut it.

When you’ve waited a year to make it happen,

you went through all the feelings between excitement and nervousness,

we followed your toddler all around the house for an hour,

and tears come to your eyes when you finally see the photos…

because you know your actual real life was captured - and there’s staying power in that.

You know these photos actually document your family’s life, and you’ll be able to look back on how this moment looks and FEELS for the rest of your life.

A typical evening in this season of your parenthood and your kid’s childhood has been captured.

Rationalizing the craft supplies that sit untouched for years, one garland at a time 🦇👻

For this spooky season garland, we used:
- black & white felt
- a permanent marker
- scissors
- fishing line
- a large needle
- orange & green craft tape for hanging

You could use paper & regular markers, string, yarn, embroidery floss, painter’s tape, etc.!

What craft supplies do you have sitting around just waiting to turn into whimsy (when the time is right)?

➡️ Online booking is open for candid 30-minute snippet sessions, longer family photo sessions capturing more real life rhythms, and playful portrait mini-sessions!

🌳 For mini-sessions, there are a few spots left for Oct. 17 at @dixpark and Nov. 7 at Historic Yates Mill County Park.

🗓️ October is almost full. I have availability for Sundays & weekdays in November (no Saturdays remaining).

‼️ My last available day for 2026 sessions is December 6, so plan ahead for your cute holiday photos at home & book early! Think Christmas cookie baking, decorating for the holidays, wrapping presents, and holiday crafts!

5 things that have been resetting my nervous system amidst a busy, busy September 😮‍💨

⏩ ⏩ ⏩

🎶 Saying YES to planning a fun evening out with my husband (to grab dinner at @birdies_raleigh downtown and see @yelyahwilliams in concert)

⏩ ⏩ ⏩

❌📱 Putting my phone down during my son’s tennis lessons and observing what’s around me instead, like green leaves dancing in the cool breeze & a rock with little sparkles in the sunlight (inspired by the picture book “Look Up! Fontaine the Pigeon Starts a Revolution”)

⏩ ⏩ ⏩

🥘 Sitting down for a few minutes while making dinner, as I was on stove watch but not actively needing to stir anything (and catching my reflection in the stove)

🪡 Trying a new-to-me craft (finally starting the embroidery kit I asked for & was gifted for Christmas)

⏩ ⏩ ⏩

🏕️ Camping in the woods with @longleaflearning & a bunch of incredible women. More on this soon!

And as I watch this back, I notice the shorts & shoes that no longer fit him, the haircut he had before keeping it longer, and the two top front baby teeth that he lost this June. 🥹

It’s no secret, but these moments really are fleeting, y’all. Even when our kids get bigger.
