🛶 Day two, Eliott is more motivated than ever, his brother caught a giant yesterday, and he’s ready to make it happen as well! You can tell right from the start when we’re searching for live bait and he’s the only one who finds any. Once we’ve gathered the live bait, we head toward a rocky point to see if there’s any action on poppers. There wasn’t any, so we started drifting through a good fish area and it didn’t take long for a bite to come! A powerful run, straight toward the bottom, Eliott grabbed the rod and reeled in hard to counter his still-unknown opponent. It was a brief but intense battle, and a shout of joy erupted when that broomtail grouper appeared right next to the kayak! 🙏

A terrifying experience on the water today! I feel grateful to be okay. My kayak and gear also came away okay, but it could have been much worse. Please be safe on the water.
