How can I be moved to tears so easily thinking about two creatures whom I’ve never been able to witness in person, touch, feel or hold? It is amazing to think about how famous they became through a webcam, how adored they are, how much people love them, and how people remain in awe of them. . . all while they have no clue they are being watched, observed, and loved by millions. It’s like nature’s equivalent of Rodriguez in Searching for Sugar Man. Maybe being famous and not knowing it is the best way to be famous. . .

That’s why I can be moved to tears so easily, that’s why they have moved us so deeply—JACKIE and Shadow. They were just doing what they do naturally without all the pressures the human world brings: loving, nurturing, protecting and providing. Watching them reminded us of what is most beautiful in life—having someone to love and protect and being someone who loves and protects. And at times, being the one who is loved and protected. Jackie was truly a MOTHER and a fierce, amazing one at that.

I started hundreds of mornings over the past few years by turning on Big Bear Eagle Cam 1 on YouTube. I was most engaged when eggs were being laid and when baby Eaglets were on the way, but I loved watching Jackie & Shadow as partners too. I don’t always love technology, but I’ll forever love that we can learn so much and observe such precious things by just clicking a button on a computer or television.

I was happy when Jackie was receiving life-saving care after the incident, but I couldn’t pay attention to the updates for too long because all I kept thinking was that Shadow’s wife was missing and he had no idea what happened to her. It was heartbreaking to think about.

This is not the outcome anyone who loves Jackie & Shadow wanted, but THANK YOU Jackie for providing me so much JOY during a horrible political climate, during the LA wildfires, and thank you for being a small part of my days that mattered more than you will ever know. RIP Jackie, you were the best kind of famous—the kind I can feel good about idolizing.

Would it shock you to know that every new Tyler song is my favorite, but that if you asked about the last one that would be my favorite too? MOMs, am I right?! Well here is the latest from my uber-talented-triple-threat son — 🧃JUICE 🧃 — and yes, you guessed it! It’s my favorite! The message I shared yesterday morning to my stories was how most people underestimate how necessary they are- how important and impactful their lives are. The same can be said for artists and what they create and put out into the world.

Then later in the afternoon I saw this video on TikTok (Elena’s World) which moved me to tears. The lengths and depths to which this particular song has traveled, reaching every corner of the Globe 🌎 and being covered by thousands and thousands of people, continues to leave me awestruck.

I love it all so much, but to see a child with autism using the lyrics my son wrote to learn music and then repeat/perform it, is something truly special. Also, she turned it into a BANGER- must watch until the end!!

Happy Oscar Sunday ~ I only made it through 7/10 Best Picture nominees this year. The last one I watched—Train Dreams— is proof that these awards are not necessarily a fair or perfect process…and that this beautiful art form is subjective in so many ways.

How was this film not mentioned more this awards season? Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, William H. Macy & Clint Bentley (director) were snubbed too. Train Dreams is STUNNING and felt like taking an intimate peek of one man’s precious life through a picture viewer. My eyes welled up the entire time.

If Sinners wins, it will be for (IMO) that magical musical/dance sequence that travels through time & space—I feel like I could watch that on a loop all-day-long because it was mesmerizing.

Cheers to all the filmmakers and lovers of film!

I was sick for 3 weeks in January, but I did manage to create this stunning (if I do say so myself!) vision/dream board on canvas. Framed with silver ribbon, added texture using beads, gems and paper flowers. I love looking at the details. Also, got a new tattoo & met my precious baby niece Romy in San Diego. 🖼️ 💕 🎨 ❤️ 🥰

A few people commented on my mom’s stamp book (collection??) so I thought I’d share an even better gem of hers at home.

There are so many beautiful features in her charming 1942 house but my absolute favorite part is her #craft / #giftwrapping room in the basement.

Well…Mom pulled out a photo box this week looking for a specific #Christmas 🎄 photo and I realized I had bangs way more as a kid than I remembered. 🤔😮😂

So in advance of my #birthday this week (12/31 NYE Capricorn baby right here 🙋🏻‍♀️) I give you #BANGS …a photo series.

I’m obsessed with Kermit the Frog 🐸 making a couple appearances on vintage Christmas in the 70’s (I loved The #Muppets & Sesame Street- still do!) and…wasn’t my Grandmother stunning?! 😍

In no particular order…All (I think 🤔) of the singles, EP’s and albums that Tyler has either written, produced or performed on (or a combo of all 3!!). A platinum 💿, double platinum 💿💿 and two GOLD RIAA 🏆 🏆 records later. . . mom was impressed when it all started and she’s obviously even more impressed now. MORE TO COME!!
