💥 Why people LOVE my ‘Using Rage to Create Change’ Workshop and why YOU will too 💥

This workshop is available for FLINTA* centred businesses, organisations and community groups that are looking for a workshop to:
⭐️ Give their people a safe space to express themselves and the things they care about
⭐️ Help their staff and/or volunteers network and connect with each other
⭐️Kickstart their strategy or development day with some righteous and productive rage

Thank you so so much to @womenscentrecornwall for inviting me back to deliver this workshop for your whole organisation development day after the success of our work together on the IGNITE International Women’s Day Event 💘 The feedback in this post is taken The Women’s Centre’s wonderful team at their development day and shared with consent 🥰

If you are interested in working with me to host a ‘Using Rage to Create Change’ Workshop, or something similar, please email me at: hello@lightsleeperstudio.com with the subject ‘Rage Workshop’ 📧 I look forward to hearing from you!

*FLINTA means Female, Lesbian, Non-binary, Trans and Agender. I use FLINTA to encompass the many forms that feminine rage can and does take. The workshop works specifically with the experiences of people socialised as women or expected to perform as feminine. The workshop comes from an intersectional and trans inclusive feminist standpoint. by @lightsleeperstudio

This week I managed to catch Aleksandra Kasuba’s ‘Shelters for the Senses’ just before it left @tatestives 🦋 after a few days of feeling quite overwhelmed, slightly ill and very tired, it certainly gave me some inspiration and a feeling of respite. Kasuba’s creation of spaces, homes, places to be comfortable, given her experiences of traumatic displacement, felt incredibly close throughout the exhibition - the search of utopia, an active hope for a place to reside safely. Her creations felt more-than-human, alien (a contentious word given its context), liminal. But unlike the liminality of Backrooms or other environments that play with threshold, Kasuba’s liminality had a comfort to it, a wonder of something being just around the corner. Something whole and new. Something far from danger. I’m really glad I went to see it, and sad it took me so long 🐚 by @lightsleeperstudio

⛱️ Inspiration from Barcelona & Bilbao ⛱️
A week spent across two coasts, absorbed in art and food - consider this a scrap book post 📒
I’ve also been thinking a LOT about Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (hence the song). What a film.
I read Having Spent Life Seeking by Kae Tempest and The Vegetarian by Han Kang. I also found the original version of King Kong Theory by Valerie Despentes, which although I can’t read, I loved the cover of ⭐️ I highly recommend you check all of them out 🌸
So much to think about 💭 by @lightsleeperstudio

Self Portraits from 5 years ago 💡

(This song was used in the pool scene in Whip It, a movie that lives rent free in my head. Sensational.)
