Run Terry Run 🏃🏻

Did you know that Terry Fox was only 21 years old when he started running across Canada? I had no idea until I saw my final film of TIFF 2026!

I ended my TIFF season with a bang by watching Sean Menard’s documentary Run Terry Run. This film is entirely made up of unseen archival footage from Terry’s cross-country Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research. 🎞️

Growing up in Canada, we’ve always known about Terry Fox, but watching this film gave me a deeper sense of what actually happened during the run and the kind of person Terry truly was.

Terry Fox is a Canadian legend whose legacy lives on through Terry Fox Day, an event where people run to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. 💪

You can watch Run Terry Run in theatres next week on October 9, 2026, with ticket proceeds supporting the Terry Fox Foundation.

Man in Motion: The Rick Hansen Story 💨

Another one of my most anticipated Disability-focused films of TIFF 2026.

Can I admit something? I didn’t know anything about Rick Hansen before seeing this film. I know, I know, as a Canadian disability advocate, I should’ve known about this absolute icon! 🇨🇦

I’m glad I was able to learn everything about Mr. Hansen through this film and his personal recollections of his Man in Motion world tour! Plus, watching this film at the same age he was when he started his journey really put things into perspective for me.

If you get the chance, go and watch Man in Motion: The Rick Hansen Story as soon as possible! And don’t forget to give Mr. Hansen his flowers for everything he’s done to raise Disability and Accessibility Awareness not just nationally, but worldwide! 💐
