A little over a week ago, @prasran and @tiff_net created the inaugural disabled creatives reception at this year's TIFF's festival.

Claiming space at the heart of TIFF Lightbox, to prove what we have always known of course: Disabled artists, storytellers, and perspective deserve respect, admiration and wild celebration.

To be part of this at my first ever TIFF moment is strictly what disability joy is all about. Taking up spaces somewhere such as this festival is what revolutionary is all about. It's about time.

Very honoured to be part of this and celebrate all the amazing creatives and storytellers in my community. Cheers to this ... to many more beautiful moments in the future! Cheers to us cause we are not going anywhere.

Exciting news! @tiff_net and I created and co-presented the inaugural disabled creatives reception at this year’s festival proudly joining TIFF’s annual celebrations such as the Black Excellence Brunch and Queer Brunch honouring creatives from equity-deserving communities. This new reception hosted for the first time at TIFF celebrated the vital work of disabled creatives, especially timely given the record-breaking 9 films featured in the festival’s 2026 programming — including the opening night film Being Heumann.

Unapologetically claiming space in the heart of the TIFF Lightbox, this reception took place on the busiest day of the festival, to prove what we have always known: disabled artists, storytellers, and perspectives deserve respect, admiration, and WILD celebration. THIS is disability joy. And it is revolutionary.

Our deepest gratitude to our Presenting Sponsor @deloittecanada, Supporting Sponsor @cmf.fmc, and our Community Partners @collectivemox and @disabilityscreen.

Hello Everyone!💞💞

I'm thrilled to share my very first collaborative Instagram post with all of you! This is a significant milestone for me.

This video features some wonderful moments from a trip to the forest and a boat ride, capturing all the fun I had. It also includes a few favourite photos of me at Access Now in March 2024. Plus, it highlights some exciting activities I've been enjoying around Toronto. Hope you enjoy watching!

In September, I'll be taking a brief break from posting, but I plan to share some of Meg’s corner content in early October. I'm stepping away for a media hiatus this month as I prepare for my new semester next Monday.

Huge thanks to @access.studio.official for an inspiring social media program, and a special thank you to @lilgabid for guiding mentees along the way. I'm excited to chat with you and think you're incredible! I can't wait to reconnect with all of you very soon!

Opens August 28th! Go See it! It was a very fun movie! Yes you can take your kids… there is little to no cussing (if I remember correctly). It was great to hear the actor’s perspective! Lana Condor even took some time to have a nice conversation with @lilgabid, but I’m sure she will tell you about it herself. Thank you @vvsfilms for having us!

Many of us look for activities that bring joy and a sense of fulfillment. For me, I find fulfillment in creative pursuits. I strongly believe a positive mindset helps me adapt and discover better ways to achieve my goals.

Find a place that sparks your interest. Unfortunately, not everyone with disabilities can easily access all locations due to obstacles or concerns about accommodations and participation.

Despite my physical disabilities, I constantly seek alternative ways to include myself in various activities. Sometimes I choose to go without asking for help. If you see someone struggling, please kindly ask before touching or taking their belongings—whether it’s a device or a personal item. Always ask first, regardless of whether the person has a disability.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love and confident in my ability to reach out for help when needed. This past weekend, I enjoyed dancing and singing—activities that truly lift my spirits. Remember, everyone with a disability finds their own way to pursue their interests, and a little compassion can go a long way. Sometimes, they hold back because they’re afraid of judgment or the unknown. Giving them space to be themselves is what truly counts.

Let's come together to make a difference! 🥹💕

In the background, there's a charming painting of a little girl dancing. Megan is wearing an eye mask, a red-brown tank top, a purple long-sleeve shirt, and a black skirt, creating a cheerful, lively scene.
