Some of the things I saw on a North Atlantic wildlife cruise from the Antrim coast:
1. Puffins!
2. Seals doing the banana pose/ looking like kolbalish! (How are they real?!! 🥺) 🦭🦭
3. So many gannets, gulls, razorbills, guillemot and all sorts of Atlantic seabird colonies that I’m not cool enough to recognize!
4. Multiple lighthouses
5. Cows on cliffsides! 🐄🐮
6. Rathlin’s dramatic cliffs
7. The complete and uninterrupted vastness of the Atlantic ocean.

We had two marine biologists on board with us who explained everything so well and we learned a lot about the Atlantic fauna. The boat’s captain was also kind enough to lend me his binoculars because I forgot mine!
Pro tip: if you’re going out into the ocean for hours, disregard how warm and sunny the weather seems on land and wear VERY warm clothes and hats. The Atlantic wind is brutal and WILL freeze you. I was shivering like crazy for hours after reaching shore, my fingers couldn’t grab anything.

Was walking home from the library today and suddenly an angelic voice (how else could I describe this?) that quite literally stopped me on my tracks. I felt so moved not only by his song and his voice, but the how deeply he seemed to feel it too. It was so so special. Does anyone know this artist? There is something to be said about walking along Corporation Street earlier that day to seeing a painting of its 1914 counterpart inside a museum.

And among all the Pre-Raphaelite paintings, the life-size Queen Victorias watching over the balcony, and the wonderfully curated industrial gallery, taking a picture with Lucifer’s backside was one of my priorities lol.

Have you been here? What would you want to see first? 🏛️

Fun fact: The museum went into lockdown for some time while we were there because of a security scare! No one was allowed in or out and we were instructed to not go near any doors or windows for like an hour

Thistle in the wind 🍃
You ever see a flower or a leaf swaying in the breeze and a song immediately plays in your head? This is where my mind instantly went to when I saw these thistles on walk by the river. They looked like cotton fluff and I don’t know if they’re an invasive species or not, but they looked so beautiful I had to capture it 📸 Felt like August.
