Nothing stops Angel from being cute, naughty, mischievous and completely fabulous. 💕

She may not be able to walk on either of her legs, but she has never let that define her. She plays, explores, gets into mischief and lives her little life with so much determination. 🥰

And beside her is her slightly older sibling, Hope, who is always there to keep her company, encourage her and teach her that being tough and fearless is just part of the game. 😂❤️

Those two are quite the team. 🦜💕

It’s been a while… 💚

I know I’ve been quiet for almost two months, and I wanted to let you know why.

This past year has been one of the hardest I’ve ever experienced. In less than a year, I lost six of my beloved parrots. Each loss was for a different reason, and every one of them left a hole in my heart. Exactly one month ago, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize my little budgie after months of battling a tumor.

I needed some time away to grieve, heal, and simply be with my birds.

But even through all the sadness, life also brought hope.

I took in the sweetest two budgies who needed rehoming. I also received the most beautiful gift from a very special friend, @kooks.feathered.gang, beautiful conure. Then I adopted another young conure with special needs who has difficulty walking. And I welcomed a lovebird whose owner was planning to set him free because of a disability in his legs (a kind of cruelty I will never understand).

Every bird has a story, and I can’t wait to introduce each one of them to you.

And then there is the biggest surprise of all. Ollie and Lemon, my two Quakers, spent the longest time acting like rivals. The funny part is that they both seemed to have a crush on Ivar! Yet somehow, against all odds, those former enemies have become a pair. Ollie has even been laying eggs—which, of course, I have been replacing with dummy eggs. Life in the parrot room is never boring, and sometimes the most unexpected friendships turn into love stories. 💚

Thank you to everyone who checked on me, sent kind messages, and stayed here while I was away. Your support means more than you know.

For now, here are a few photos of my flock. I hope to start posting more often again and to introduce you to each of these beautiful souls very soon.

Last night I came home and found Rico stuck inside one of his toys.

Thankfully, he was completely fine and acted as if nothing had happened, but it was a reminder that even toys marketed for birds can become dangerous depending on their design and how our birds choose to use them.

Birds are curious, playful, and sometimes determined to squeeze into spaces they were never meant to fit into. A toy that seems harmless can become a trapping hazard in seconds.

Please inspect your birds' toys regularly and always think about how a determined little beak might interact with them when you're not around.

What looks like enrichment to us can sometimes become a safety risk.

Sometimes awareness comes from a close call.

I'm sharing ours in the hope it prevents someone else's♥️🦜
