If you’re new here, welcome 💕

I’m Linda 💃🏼 a former teacher turned filmmaker and storyteller from a tiny country town in South Australia in our 1860s stone cottage @applehauscottage .

🌸 What started as documenting our own everyday life @lindaandgabriel has grown into a career creating films for brands, destinations and our own community @thepawpages.au
🌸 Along the way, our YouTube channel became monetised in under 12 months, our stories reached millions of people, and one little English Cocker Spaniel @sir.teddycocker along with @zara.thecottagecat unexpectedly changed our lives
🌸 But before any of that, there was another story.. the one that shaped my life behind the camera

…Welcome to my story 🫶🏽💕

Ode to Dad - Part 4 🤍🕊️

I used to think tears were proof of how much you loved someone.

At Dad’s funeral, I watched everyone around me break down while I stayed strong. I held everyone else up because I thought that’s what I needed to do for him.

But sometimes I wonder… who was holding me?

Grief doesn’t always look like tears.
Sometimes it’s numbness. Sometimes it’s anger. Sometimes it’s laughter. Sometimes it’s being the strong one until you finally have space to fall apart.

And sometimes the deepest grief is the quietest.

If you’ve loved and lost someone too, follow along as I share more of life without my Dad, grief, healing and learning to carry him with me through every chapter that comes next 🤍

And if you’ve just found me, hi, I’m Linda 💕 You might know me as Teddy’s mum @sir.teddycocker, Mrs A from my teaching days, the face behind @thepawpages.au or from our little life @lindaandgabriel.and if you want to watch my journey of life abroad watch it all unfold raw and real on @youtube @lindaandgabriel

Behind it all, I’m just a daughter who still misses her dad.

And Dad, I hope wherever you are, you know your only daughter is still trying to make you proud🤍🕊️🥲

If you’ve just found me, hi I’m linda 💕

You might know me as the dog mum of the viral cocker spaniel @sir.teddycocker , or Mrs A from my teaching days, the face behind @thepawpages.au or from our little YouTube life online @lindaandgabriel

You see the milestones, the collaborations, the airports before new adventures, and my childhood dreams coming true…

But what you don’t see… is the grief everyday and how often I wish my biggest fan was still here to see them too.
Some days it still feels like yesterday and maybe that’s why I film…

This is an Ode to Dad - Part 1 💕 x

thank you for following along and if you felt this too, just know you’re not alone🌼

notes to no one - page 4 🌸for the daughters who grew up understanding their mothers pain before they could make sense of their own.

especially those raised between cultures, where sacrifice was love, silence was strength, and survival was something we inherited.

when did you realise you were trying to save someone while still learning how to save yourself?

follow @lindaaravanis for more poetry, personal reflections and stories we don’t always know how to tell.

moving to the countryside has made us question what we actually need in our home

since moving into our 1860s stone cottage, we’ve been paying more attention to what we use every day, from the food we grow to the products we clean with.

welcome to a slow Sunday reset at @applehauscottage, with @sir.teddycocker + @zara.thecottagecat supervising as usual

today we’re trying the Clarity Home Pack from @earthclearau , Australian-made, plant-based cleaning essentials as we work towards a more sustainable little homestead.

🤎 what’s one sustainable swap you’ve made that you’d never go back on?
