The Carnegie is thrilled to announce its 2026 FotoFocus exhibition: Natural Fictions, opening September 30, 2026.

Curated by: Lindsay Albert (Program Manager, KADIST) and Sso-Rha Kang (Curator, The Carnegie).

Artists: Sean McFarland, Heesoo Kwon, Mareiwa Miller, Phillip Maisel, Joshua Berg, Ruby Que, Lydia Smith

Natural Fictions gathers artists who harness photography’s potential to imagine new relationships with the natural world—ones that are not bound by documentary fidelity but instead embrace transformation, fiction, and play. Natural Fictions is part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial: The Long View.

‘A Woman You Thought You Knew’ and ‘Worlds World Worlds’ in The Screening Room drew on shared themes across the KADIST collection and aims to make the breadth and diversity of over 2,200 artworks representing over 1,400 artists at KADIST’s hubs in Paris and San Francisco. by @lindsayaa
