Tune in to radiovalencia.fm this Friday from 6-8pm PST

Welcoming KADIST San Francisco's new Program Manager, Lindsay Albert (@lindsayaa) 🌸

She boasts more than 10 years of experience in the San Francisco arts community, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, McEvoy Foundation for the Arts, and most recently, Minnesota Street Project as Director of Programming and Public Engagement. She curated and produced Indira Allegra's TEXERE: The Shape of Lost as a Tapestry; Leila Weefer: PLAY†PREY: A Gospel; Ragnar Kjartansson Scenes from Western Culture, and the 2022 San Francisco Art Book Fair.

She co-founded staircase gallery (@staircase__series) in 2023. Born out of the need for more alternative and affordable art spaces in the Bay Area, the project showcases experimental exhibitions and events centered around the visual arts. Lindsay is fond of conceptual photography, sculpture, and video art that play with relationships between materiality, simplicity, and form into something uncanny but poetic. She graduated with a degree in Art History and a minor in Photography from the University of South Florida.

Her favorite artworks in the #KADISTcollection include:
• James Welling (@jamescwelling), Stowe, 2006.
• Li Gang (@__ligang__ ), False or True No. 3, 2016.
• Marion Scemama (@scemamarion), David Wojnarowicz (@david_wojnarowicz), This Little House, 1989. 3:16 minutes
8mm video
• Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Gerald Hughes, a.k.a. Savage Fantasy’; about 25 years old, 1990-92. Photograph, 50 x 63 cm
• Etel Adnan and Lynn Marie Kirby, Collaborative Mt. Tamalpais Drawings #1-8, 2017

THE #2020Census IS NOW LIVE. VISIT www.my2020Census.gov to fill it out.
The Census is a 9-question confidential survey that takes 10 minutes to complete. It determines where and how federal money and power are distributed. The more San Franciscans who take part, the bigger our fair share of both.

When you fill out the Census, each person in your household (including you) brings $20,000 into your community over the next ten years. Fill it out and protect your voting power (this year, California could lose a seat in the House of Representatives—which we definitely don’t want to happen). Everyone has the right to safely participate. Yes, everyone—citizen or not—even babies count. And despite what you may have heard, there is no citizenship question on the 2020 Census.

Spend 10 minutes answering 9 questions, and money comes into our communities for affordable housing, healthy food, healthcare, public schools, fostercare, free meals, job training, essential emergency services, roads, preschools, and more.

It’s time to get your fair share.
It’s time to #COMETOYOURCENSUS.
