I know we’re in 2026 but 2025 was special. From January to December the goal was to soak up every opportunity thrown my way and see how my body, brain, and spirit felt at the end. Full transparency there were points I felt I fell short often. Playing a sport of failure for 90% of the year had me convinced I was a failure more times than not, regardless of the outcome. As someone who preaches the bigger picture, it was hard to crawl out of, especially when every opportunity feels like such a gift you don’t want to let it slip. Not only am I proud of the experiences and accomplishments, but I’m so dang proud of getting myself out of the depths of my own thoughts and making decisions that are best for me. Our silent struggles are by far some of the hardest you’ll ever face and it’s still not always perfect but so rewarding getting to the other side. To see how softball has grown from the opportunities I only hoped to dream of in 2016, to what we’ve fought for now. You couldn’t even dream of it. The idea of what’s possible now and the future of this sport is unimaginable and how lucky to be a part of it. Every day in this jersey is a gift ✨ @ogaki_minamo This team works relentlessly, pours EVERY ounce of heart, soul, sweat, and effort in everything they do. Out here, every single person is important to help this team be all it can be. We’re not here to just be a part of history we’re here to MAKE IT 🏆 💍 💨 The beginning of this year was personally tough and everyone kept reminding me that everything happens for a reason. I can’t help but think this is the BEST reason. The people, the talent, this game, this TEAM. I’m so incredibly proud to be a member of the Texas Smoke @thetexassmoke Thank you @datdudebp @jadecargill @chawkins10 @emays12 for making dreams like this happen. Thanks Nicole for making Zion happen 🥹Day 17:15 leave the air bnb 7:45 park 8:00 rent the shoes 8:43 on the bus 9:17 start the 1 mile walk to the river Walk in awe for the next 5 and a half hours to cover nine miles3:45 bus back down 4:25 cheers with a crisp beer 6:30 don’t move for the rest of the day You can turn around at any point, we just kept going 😅🤩 #Zion #thenarrows by @lindsaythomas32

Do the mahi, get the treats baby ✨ In 2019 Nicole shared memories of her teammates from Kaiapoi that sounded like they were written out of story books. Of a teammate that has three kids (now four) and she’s the same age as us still throwing runners out. About the infamous pitcher that was so competitive she created an entire all-star game with a draft system that brought the league together so she could prove who’s best. To the family of three daughters all born from an Olympian that all have paved their own infamous stories into New Zealand softball. EVERYONE should know about Aotearoa Softball. Where we have nine softballs at practice because the distance from other countries makes it too expensive. To the country that plays on grass when they run out of dirt and turf fields to get all of the games in. To the elite softball players that have to fundraise for world qualifiers and cups to represent their country because the national team receives zero funding. Even the umpires show up for the love of the game even when they deserve so much more. Men’s fastpitch have even proved they’re the best in the world time and time again and still work full time jobs to get themselves to world tournaments. Despite that, everyone still shows up. Anyone who wants to fall back in love with this game and themselves should come to New Zealand, where aroha SURROUNDS you if you’re open to returning it. It gets me every time. He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata 🌀🌿Love you my Queens 👑 and FYI we actually have at least four mothers on our team !!! by @lindsaythomas32

Showing the beauty of my second home in Aotearoa is one of my favorite things.
