Summer Sling Stage Combat and Stunt Workshop -
I’ve never done any stage combat, so I pieced together a diverse schedule to get an introductory education in as many different things as I could. I was so impressed with the staff and the incredible environment cultivated by this stage combat community! Thank you to all of my fight partners - everyone was so generous and kind! It was fun to be a student again for a few days, step completely outside of my comfort zone, and to learn something entirely new! Thank you @neutralchaoscombat and @summersling_nyc for providing an amazing 3 day workshop that made this novice feel so welcome!

And…yes…I did step backwards into a post on a water break and roll my ankle as I tried to save myself from falling completely over backwards. I thought I could walk it off…and then realized I’m not 20 years old anymore…I ended up observing for the rest of day 3. I was disappointed because I was really looking forward to the “vicious small sword” and “staff” classes. Oh well! by @lindsey.d.smith

Opening a brand new show in our brand new Beehive! What an experience! Hallmarked was the first show at HCT to move from our “Sandbox” to our “Beehive” for rehearsals. With a brand new script and score written in-house, we were the first production to open on our 3rd HCT stage. Finishing touches were happening all around us as we rehearsed and opening night culminated with a ribbon cutting ceremony! Hallmarked ran for 17 weeks and will soon be seen on other stages around the country! So honored to have a small part in bringing this show to life!

A little snapshot of tech for Harmony!

Sometimes you get to work on something very pretty, sometimes it’s very cool, sometimes you get round 2 of pneumonia in tech and actually spend a large portion of it watching from your studio, sometimes it takes 4 rounds to get the digital dancers on cue (thank you @lindsey.d.smith for your commitment to excellence), and sometimes you get to work on a truly breathtaking story and make something magical with some of your favorite people, and sometimes you realize you really really need to get better at taking photos hahaha.

And genuinely couldn’t have done this without my amazing video team who held down the fort while I was dying and really made cool stuff happen, Erin Sims, Blake Alonso, and Keaton Mangleson. Truly couldn’t do it without yall.

Happy opening to this gorgeous gorgeous show, I hope Utah audiences fall in love with this story the way we all have.

Bringing Notre Dame to life. Now that the show is closed, it’s fun to look back at the collaboration that brought this production to the stage.

Opening this show was a bit of a blur…Charlie died opening night…but looking back on some of the clips that I caught leading up to opening have made me smile! by @lindsey.d.smith

Charlie Rox Smith came into my life on September 28th, 2015 and left it on March 9th, 2026. He was the absolute BEST - the sweetest soul I’ve ever known. The first half of his life was spent living in Florida with all of his Oasis Cove Lake People and their dogs. He also travelled quite a bit. In NYC he visited Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, and his beloved Museum of Natural History dog run. After Covid, he moved his home base to Utah where he got to experience more outdoor adventures like Bear Lake, Lake Powell, hikes, and the Sand Dunes. For over a decade, he was a steadfast companion and choreographer supervisor. He would go with me anywhere I would let him and he never complained…except for when he didn’t feel like dealing with his German Shepherd cousins. He was true royalty - he did things in his own time and not yours and would “Gremlin” at you if you displeased him. He was also a “Where’s Waldo” Champion - if you called for him, he would hold very still so you could find him…which made it even more difficult to find him. He was passionate about how a Christmas Tree Skirt should be arranged and I’m glad his battle this last Christmas was such a decisive win for him. His huge heart was ultimately his demise and it happened so fast. I feel like a piece of my soul has left this earth - if you know me, you know how important Charlie was to me. I tried to give him the absolute best life because what he gave to mine is immeasurable. I love you, Baby Dog! 💔🌈🐾 by @lindsey.d.smith
