The Dusit Thani Hotel occupied one of the most recognizable corners of Bangkok's Silom district until it was demolished. Central Park now stands on that site: a 40,000 sqm (430,000 sq ft) retail and dining podium by Linehouse, anchoring a mixed-use complex of hotel, residential and office towers.

What makes the project worth reading closely is how the history is handled. Rather than a plaque or a salvaged fragment, the reference is structural — three metal-clad voids run through the podium as circulation cores, turning the memory of what was lost into the way the building is crossed.

Old bones. New life.

Together with Shanghai-based design studio @line___house, the former Tai Wah Garments & Knitting Factory has been thoughtfully reimagined, with subtle nods to its industrial past woven throughout the space.

On the first floor, a rope installation runs the length of the space, a thread back to the pulley systems of its garment-making days, weaving together a new generation of brands, makers and pop-ups.

Upstairs, five food concepts gather around a canopy inspired by traditional attap roofs, in a dining hall washed in the pinks and greens of hawker platters past.

Steel, rope and a little nostalgia. Come find your way in.
