🎶✨ Magic is unfolding this week in schools across the region.

Fischoff’s Arts-in-Education residency is in full swing. Holy Cross School was first to welcome Lineage Percussion, the 2024 Ann Divine Educator award winner. Through a music-filled performance, they brought to life the classic picture book Miss Nelson is Missing!

Lineage is also working with the @fischoffchambermusic academy students, along with area percussion students, for hands-on workshops. by @lineagepercussion

We’ve been a little quiet on here, which usually means we are up to something! We are so honored to announce that we are the winner of the 2024 Ann Divine Educator Award! With this comes so many exciting things that we cannot wait to share along the way, and in the meantime, head over to the @fischoffchambermusic to read the full press release. We are the first percussion chamber group to ever do this, so we are proud to represent our craft!

When we first created our percussion trio nearly a decade ago, we had no idea it would lead to us traveling the world together, creating music.

A special thank you to the @stb_chambermusic_festival and @afropauken for inviting us to perform and teach in South Africa these past two weeks. Hope to be back on this side of the globe again very soon 🌍 #sicmf2023

After the premiere of Shadows of Lakeland in February, we thought it would be good to release each vignette to showcase these works that can truly stand on their own! These were created to be modular in the sense that they can be played as a whole or played as a single pieces.

We are going to start with our commissioned vignette, hymns, by @simoncomposer. Carlos has been the best to work with. He created something that exceeded our expectations and paid true homage to the strength of the Lakeland community. We hope you enjoy and check out his website and social media to see all the incredible things he’s doing!

Link in bio per usual!

Tomorrow, Lauren will be representing us at a presentation and panel discussion for the Vital Signs cohort! We wouldn’t have been able to create Shadows of Lakeland without support like this.

These projects celebrate student voices and actions related to the #blacklivesmatter movement. In partnership with @blackterpsmatter, UMD's Office of Diversity & Inclusion and @umdmica, members of the Spring 2021 Vital Signs cohort will present excerpts of their projects and discuss the intersection of their personal experiences with their art. Join the Vital Signs Showcase tomorrow, May 3 at 7PM EDT. Free and virtual! Event link in bio.
