🎶✨ Magic is unfolding this week in schools across the region.

Fischoff’s Arts-in-Education residency is in full swing. Holy Cross School was first to welcome Lineage Percussion, the 2024 Ann Divine Educator award winner. Through a music-filled performance, they brought to life the classic picture book Miss Nelson is Missing!

Lineage is also working with the @fischoffchambermusic academy students, along with area percussion students, for hands-on workshops.

Summer trip 4 of 5 is complete! Any time spent with @weslovvve and @la_floyd is a guaranteed good time, but this trip was extra special since @lineagepercussion had the opportunity to present our first-ever live performance of Shadows of Lakeland at the University of Maryland’s @theclariceumd. We loved connecting with members of the Lakeland Community and offering our support of their restorative justice initiatives through our own compositions and through the music of @carlos_simon_music.

Great to reconnect with so many @ugamusic percussion alumni in the DMV area, too!! (And always great to see my best buddy from kindergarten, Ben Weingartner, and his partner, Kat)

Thanks to Lauren for always being a great host, complete (as expected) with tons of good food and quality time with our favorite cats @ollie.and.willow.

SCIMF 2023!! Was such an amazing experience :)

I met new people and listened to performances with such a high standard. The festival gave me so much inspiration and motivation for music and composition. It shows you what is possible when you put in the work.

And, just like that, my first season with the @tucsonsymphony is complete. My dream of playing alongside @la_floyd and @weslovvve with the TSO came true as they might the trip out to join us for a thrilling 2.5hr marathon performance of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. It’s been over 8 years since our @lineagepercussion trio has performed together with an orchestra, and it locked in immediately. It’s always an honor to play alongside them….and in one month from today the three of us will board our flight to South Africa to teach and perform in Stellenbosch for the summer. Love making memories with these two, and this summer will be one for the books.

So special having 12 family members in the audience for the final Star Wars performance, too ❤️

All 50+ instruments are finally returned and put away and now it’s time to kick off a much-needed break this next week ☀️

Congrats to Dr. Trevor Barroero who has just won the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra's Section Percussion Audition this past Sunday in Alabama! @hsv_symphony @marimbarr

Dr. Barroero has just finished his doctorate work and will graduate next month. He graduated with his MM in Percussion Performance in 2019 and continued on studying with Timothy K. Adams, Jr. and Kimberly Toscano Adams for his DMA.

We wish him the best when he starts his new role in September 2022. Go Dawgs! #hso #godawgs
