I'm not a morning person.

But knowing the feeling I'll have after the run

(event when it's 2 hours...)

makes me wake up, get dressed, put on my shoes, and head out the door.

At 7am!

First Hyrox sim solo ✅️

This is actually the best I've felt in a full race, both in competitions and sims. Both physically and mentally.

I've often struggled with keeping focus, counting correctly (😆) and pacing.

In this sim, I had a plan to test, on the runs, on the ski, on the burpees and on the wallballs.

There's a lot of talk about whether to do sims or not. For me, super helpful.

It's about testing. From race outfit and fuel to pace and effort.

Also, first time I'm doing the sled pull the Hyrox way so lots of learnings and SO to coach and team for tips!

Today, we're 17 days out from Hyrox Tenerife and I'm excited!

Here's one thing no one is talking about when training for wallballs:

Training you mind is key 🔑

12 months ago I had never done a wallball in my life.

The first ones at the gym felt fine. They were fun. I just did as many as I could.

Then I did my first hybrid race 6 months ago. And doing wallballs on tired legs after runs and workouts is a whole different thing.

I went back to training with a different mindset. I realized doing random sets 10, 7, 15, 5, 6 was not working.

So I started to set a goal in my mind and reach it. Set after set. I started with 5s. Then after some time 10s, then 20s.

At the Hyrox sim this weekend I had a plan and I stuck to it. 20, 20, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10. I will keep working on getting the 10s to 20s and 20s to 30s.

And as much as I need to keep focusing on strength and endurance, I'm also training with the purpose of hitting the numbers I set to compete with confidence.

I always want to learn, so tell me your best wallball tips 💪
