🥂 Could your Champagne be doing your skin a favour? ✨

A human study from the University of Reading found that moderate Champagne consumption was associated with lower levels of MMP-9 — an enzyme involved in collagen breakdown.

Interesting? Absolutely.
A reason to prescribe Champagne as skincare? Sadly, no 😂

It was a small, short-term study looking at a biomarker — not a skincare or anti-ageing trial, and it doesn’t prove Champagne prevents wrinkles.

Still… I’ll raise a glass to interesting science. 🥂✨

Still riding the high from Wednesday🤍

It wasn’t just any old pop up - it was a space for all healthcare professionals connected by a shared purpose: caring for others. We may come from different corners of healthcare, but it felt like one community. 🫶🏻

Yes @wearfigs make incredible scrubs, (the compliments were running high!) but what really sets them apart is their mission to celebrate, empower and serve those who serve others which definitely shines through 🥰

In a profession that can sometimes feel relentless, it was refreshing to start the day catching up with friends and colleagues (old and new!) who understand the highs, the challenges and everything in between. 🙏🏻

FIGS Day in London! 🙌🏻

I wish every day could start like this! 😍

Up and out the door early today to hang out with the @wearfigs team and my love @dr.chinwe_london ! (Missing my fave @londonhygienist 😭)

Also bumped into some familiar London faces, made some new friends and got some extra cool London swag! 😎

The OJ and coffee was flowing at @themarylebonecorner which was so welcome in today’s beautiful weather ☀️

And I got to race the clock at the special FIGS edition of operation! (0.29seconds but someone did beat me! 🤪)

At the weekend I undertook one of the biggest challenges of my life attempting to walk from London to Brighton with @ultrachallenges

Unfortunately, at the grand 58km mark I had to bow out due to incredible blistering of my toes, (that I have spent the weekend draining) potentially leading to loss of toenails 🤢 from being crushed while descending down some questionable inclines.

As I travel back into work today I have time to reflect on what I have learnt;
1. The body is capable of incredible things
2. I have more drive and determination than I realised
3. Always tape your toes before doing crazy walks
4. Never blindly trust @joelovettcatalyst and his wild ideas 😂

As proud as some of you have all told me you are, I of course still can’t help feeling I have let people down. I will set myself the challenge of completing the remaining 42km (once I have my toes back 😅) and will keep you all updated on that front 🙃

The money raised for @dentaidthedentalcharity was over 4 times what I had set out to do and it will go on to aid so many people in need. 🙏🏻

I am in awe of all my friends and colleagues who managed to complete this 100km challenge and it was so great to watch you all cross the finish line wishing I was there with you❤️ by @linzydht
