BEWARE OF THE SNACKS 😈👾. If you are anything like me then lockdown has flipped your world upside down 🤦‍♀️. Being at home all the time I keep finding myself in the kitchen... opening the fridge, pulling out drawers and scowering cupboards looking for a little yummy something or other to pass the time. Anyone else? 🤫🙈. Aside from the obvious risk of weight gain there is a sinister consequence of snacking. Snacking is the act of eating in between meals. Why is this a problem?

Let's go back to the equation 👩‍🔬👩‍🎓...........................(Sugar/Carbs + Bacteria) X frequency = DECAY 💣........................... Basically the more you snack outside of meal times the higher the risk of decay happening. The magic frequency number to avoid decay is 3. So keep snacking to less than 3 times a day to avoid problems 😇😁. 💥3️⃣💥.

Looking forward to getting back to face-to-face teaching. But let’s not forget how during these uncertain times, where circumstances out of our control have kept us from doing what we love, we as a profession have come together, and collectively continued to invest in ourselves.
.
.
With re-opening now in sight, it will be a different world, but embrace it, adapt and learn as we have in these times. We will be stronger 💪
.
.
Stay strong, stay positive
Much love x .

2020 you have been cruel...BUT humankind can be so wonderful and inspiring in times of great adversity and in some respects I can be grateful for this time. It has taught me a lot about myself.

I cannot be 100% ALL THE TIME! I should spend more time without worry and I am not as kind to myself as I should be ☺. What have you learnt about YOURSELF in this time? 👇 Let me know.. read my story below.

Tuesday I had one of those days where I felt overwhelmed and unmotivated. I spent the day in my PJ's, worrying about everything and anything, putting pressure on myself to make this time count. My wedding should have been this Saturday and I indulged in self pity.. but that's okay.

There is no RIGHT way to do this time and it's okay to have days where you cannot or will not face reality and struggle with motivation. What is really testing of your character is how you come back from it. Write the day off and move FORWARDS.

It's good to talk about these days as well as highlight the positives. Right now mental health is really important and we need to support each other. If anyone needs a lift or wants to chat I am HERE FOR YOU.

We have to be SAFE for ourselves ,for those we come into contact with and for our patients. But it doesn’t mean we’re going to enjoy the new PPE guidelines. 👩🏼‍🚀
