I've got a full plate of stuff to watch and review. To that extent, I'll be looking to breathe in between, which - to some degree - means adhering to my own comfort viewing: Two #SammoHung throwbacks that I've yet to see, although I remembered glazing across them from time to time as a customer on HKFlix of wayback when, and I'll be going into these blindly as well. 🤞 Packaged and printed luxuriously by the stalwarts at 88 Films no less. @mvdentertainmentgroup remains on par with quality goods. 🤝

Extra gems partly including from @rickybaker9729 @frankdjeng @fjdesanto and David West. Cheers! 🍻

Directed by Aaron Schoenke and Sean Schoenke, LEGEND OF THE WHITE DRAGON arrives on 4K UHD+Blu-Ray combo back and DVD on October 20 from @wellgousa.

This film continues to be the most stirring of conversation topics among fans of MMPR and the late Jason David Frank, so much so that it tends to get a little scary even considering trudging into those fandom waters. Public opinion is even more frightening combined with the presence of critics engaging in fact-based discussions, and bad actors looking to chug those facts right into an online sea of misinformation, unwarranted drama, and entropy - nearly to the point where I almost decided not to review this film...

For the sake of having an informed opinion based solely on the film's merits, I'm glad I did. Hit the front page of filmcombatsyndicate.com for my analysis. LINK IN BIO!

We live in such wild and absurd times that with all the watercooler talk and hubbub about the level of "dad action" achieved by Jason Statham in his films up to now, I'm totally down for some kind of unserious, escapist thriller in the vein of COBRA KAI by way of DEADPOOL and NOBODY, in which this man plays a plumber who finds redemption in taking down a cabal of asshole criminals. I already have early ideas in my head for a plot, and action set pieces that are not only totally befitting for fans of a Statham flick, but with the type of overkills that will leave you retching in your seat.

Oh, and @timobros can direct it if he'd like. Just food for thought. Also I'm not a screenwriter, but I'd write this if I were one. IJS.

Just a quick reminder that BLADES OF THE GUARDIANS: WIND RISES IN THE DESERT is now available from Well Go USA on 4K UHD/Blu-Ray. It's also worth pointing out that this combo pack release comes with special features, something that Well Go discs haven't had in a while and is only recently starting to come back for its disc releases on its titles. This one comes with four featurettes totaling twenty minutes of extras focused on director #YuenWooPing and the cast, and loads of behind-the-scenes goods. It's worth the purchase. Get it today wherever movies are sold.

I got this in the mail in recent weeks courtesy of @mvdentertainmentgroup and managed to watch it late last month. It's my first stab at a VV release and while the only version delivered here comes with its German title, #4stahlharteFäuste, Raymond Lui's #FatalFlyingGuillotine comes loaded with features, including a few new bits from @goldninjavideo and an archival interview with kung fu cinema legend #CarterWong among others. The main feature includes some of the extra, more gory bits, and the disc also comes with some extra goodies beyond that. A great collector's item for hardcore OG kung fu fans. by @liondennrobb

A photo of @jennarfrank and @jdfffn as shown in one of the disc bonuses on the upcoming 4K UHD/Blu-Ray release of #LegendOfTheWhiteDragon from @batinthesun and @wellgousa.

I'll work on my review and publish my analysis close to its release, but I do want to preface things here with at least one important caveat here: Regardless of whatever has been said in the years and months leading up to this film's release, LEGEND OF THE WHITE DRAGON has earned the respect and validity of a proper watch to draw informed conclusions.

I don't generally engage a lot of online fandoms, mainly given the propensity and recalitrance of a lot of fans and netizens to stay beholden to preconceptions on topics pertinent to their favorite IPs. It does behoove me, though, to consider a lot of what gets said and shown as far as receipts go, and so much of it really does paint an ugly and ominous picture that undercuts any prospective outlook, and makes it easy to determine how much of it to write off. It's eye-opening, and frustrating, but it's a reality that we all have to mitigate in these spaces to determine the things we want to enjoy and celebrate.

For what it's worth, Aaron and Sean Scheonke's LEGEND OF THE WHITE DRAGON deserves consideration in that regard. Don't be easily swayed. Watch the movie, and draw your own conclusions. The legend deserves that much, if not more...
