Sometimes life doesn’t give you a family to depend on, or good friends to guide you in the right direction. Sometimes we just have to depend on ourselves. Self love is soooooo important. But, just in case you didn’t know, I love you even though I can’t always be present with you.

After 2 1/2 years of caring for my mother, today is the day I've said enough. The stress of taking care of a parent while being a parent is a stress I can live without. Between my mother, my family and my personal life it has become overwhelmingly suffocating. I cannot let stress physically harm my body. I am preparing for what happens next because I know I cant keep up like this. I've reached that point where I've tried, cried, and cared too much for too long. I've lost my shop, I've lost my sense of passion and at times I feel like im running on fumes. I'm actually not angry, I'm not sad; I'm just tired.
Tired of hoping things will get better and they never do. Tired of absent family members and judgmental characters. Tired of those who take advantage and choose manipulation over reality. I love my mom but I put the family I've created first. I will not degrade myself, my children deserve more than that.

I know we can all say that my grandmother was there for us genuinely, she didn't care how it affected her. It was a commitment to her family to love us, and so she did, love us even in all our flaws, she loved us fully.

Christmas Day was canceled for us, and that's okay. The falling snow called Papa into work, and as night grew closer, I decided—well, heck—the littles wouldn’t know the difference if we celebrated the following day. (Our older two boys are with their dad in WV for the week.)
Christmas Day itself felt slow and gentle. It was just the littles and me—cuddles, cleaning, and snow flurries drifting by as time passed.
I hadn’t seen my husband in two days because of the snow fall and I felt grateful to have my babies. I took in every moment, even the frustrating ones. I gained appreciation for the time my husband sacrificed in order for these moments to happen. It turned out to be exactly what I needed.

Thank You Papa, for all that you do for our family.

Such a incredible opportunity I was given yesterday. I was blessed to teach a plant class in the morning and in the late afternoon. I taught in 2 completely different spaces with two different groups. Everyone was amazed how their artwork turned out and all had a sense of gratitude. Wow. Which is crazy right? We spend so much of our time and energy reacting to the obstacles in our lives. It feels never-ending, until one day, the cycle stops. We realize the only thing that truly matters is how we react to the world. The way we react to our family, our children, and our relationships all affects the outcome of our lives.
