🔊 Not a doctor. Not a nutritionist. Just a dad who refused to outsource his daughter’s health.

Before she was born, I spent hundreds of hours learning about the first 1,000 days. Brain wiring. Metabolic programming. Taste imprinting. Immune foundations. This window shapes more than most people realise.

Even major health authorities say no added sugar before age two. And honestly, that just makes sense. I don’t need an authority to tell me that.

Basic common sense says tiny bodies don’t need refined sweetness or ultra processed convenience.

Yet ultra processed foods make up a huge part of modern childhood.

That’s not nourishment. That’s normalised convenience.

So we chose differently.

Whole foods. Real textures. Natural sweetness from fruit, balanced with quality protein, nourishing fats from meat stocks & grass fed butter, and fibre from organic vegetables. Prioritising nutrient density over refined starches. No juice. No sugary drinks. No added sugar. No ultra processed shortcuts.

Not because I’m extreme. Because this window doesn’t come back.

Once you start paying attention, it’s hard to unsee. I’ve stood in playgrounds watching toddlers fuelled on chocolate & ultra processed snacks. Not from judgement. From awareness. We’ve normalised sugar crashes, constant snacking on the wrong things, frequent colds, skin flare ups & call it “just being a kid.”

Maybe some of it is. Maybe some of it isn’t.

It’s never too late to start paying attention. Reading ingredients. Questioning additives. Looking at your water quality. Choosing real over convenient.

My job is to protect her. Paying attention is part of that.

She’s not missing out. She’s learning what real tastes like.

There will be time for everything else. But right now, we build foundations.

Strong body. Clear mind. Thriving little girl 🌿

Intentional parenting isn’t loud. It’s consistent.

🍲 Gentle Chicken Meat Stock for Baby’s First Foods!

Made with just two ingredients:
✨ Organic chicken joints & bones
✨ Fresh filtered water (Kangen 7.0)

1️⃣ Bring to the boil, skim off any impurities
2️⃣ Cover & simmer on low for 2–2.5 hours
3️⃣ Strain, cool, and portion into fridge jars or freezer cubes

❄️ Frozen cubes are perfect for quick use in baby meals or big peoples meals.
🥣 After 24 hours in the fridge, the stock naturally sets into a nourishing gelatin.. Freeze portions / jars (what ever I leave in the fridge I’ll warm up for my self to drink. Use within 3 days max.

Little jars for little people 🫶🏼

For each portion (60–80 g):

🔹 45–50 g wholesome vegetables (pumpkin, zucchini, broccoli, or other low-starch veggies) * Steamed always (our go to is pumpkin and chicken)

🔹 20–25 g tender chicken (shredded from the stock)
A spoonful of stock to blend smoothly

💡 The ratio is simple: 2 parts vegetables to 1 part meat. I like to add in some meat stock to help blend it all together.
This keeps meals gentle, nutrient-rich, and open for variety as baby grows.

Little jars for little people 🫶
Blend up shredded chicken, zucchini, broccoli (optional) if your little one gets gassy, and a touch of nourishing meat stock for the perfect baby meal. Half a chicken gives around 10 jars that freeze beautifully for up to 3 months. I usually go 50/50 meat to veggies but honestly, it’s whatever’s on hand. Real food. No fillers, no added sugars, just wholesome single-ingredient meals your little one will love 💚

There’s something pretty special about watching your little one enjoy a meal you made from scratch.

Today’s lunch was grass-fed beef meatballs and veggies cooked in @gevityrx stock, oven-roasted sweet potato cooked in tallow, fresh avocado, and juicy mango. No fancy recipe.. just simple, nutrient-dense ingredients prepared with a little love.

This is what Real Food for Little People is all about. ❤️

I just unlocked the ultimate hack to eliminate chaos at mealtime.

I wasn’t struggling with what to cook.
I realised serving everything separately was encouraging picking and throwing.

So I changed the structure.

The Fritter Method.

All the protein and veg you want. One egg to bind it. Mix. Cook. Done.

Shredded zucchini is always the star, moisture squeezed right out And an egg to bind it all together.

Finely shredded veg like zucchini or carrot can go in raw.
Hard veg like pumpkin or broccoli? Steam first.

🥒 Vegetarian
Zucchini, steamed pumpkin, egg, cottage or ricotta

🥩 Meat
Ground beef (cooked in stock or water), zucchini, shredded carrot, steamed broccoli, egg

Mix. Form small patties. Pan cook on medium in butter or coconut oil until golden.

Same food.
Better structure.
Less waste.

Dinner time is still dinner time… and gravity always wins ✌🏼

THE BEST WAY TO GET YOUR BABY EATING SARDINES

Want to feed your baby sardines but they keep throwing them straight on the floor? Do this 👇

Sardine fritters. Easy. No fuss.

In a bowl
🥒 1 shredded zucchini, moisture squeezed out
🐟 1 tin sardines
🥚 1 egg
🎃 Steamed pumpkin, finely chopped
🥦 Steamed cauliflower, finely chopped

Mix it all together.

Cook in a little coconut oil 🥥 on medium heat until golden on both sides 🍳

Keeping the vegetables low starch and easy to digest.

This is a great way to sneak in vegetables and protein. The fritter method has no limits. Whatever you’ve got, throw it in a bowl, mix and cook.

Sardines are absolute gold for growing little bodies 🧠 Omega 3s for brain development 🦴 Calcium for strong bones 💪 Quality protein 🥑 Healthy fats that actually nourish and keep them full.

No plan. No recipe. Just wholesome food.

Hope this helps. Let me know how you go.

PROTEIN PACKED BABY SALMON CAKES 🐟💪

Wild caught cooked salmon mixed with one egg, grated zucchini and carrot with the excess water squeezed out, plus a tiny pinch of turmeric if you like. No salt, no sugar, no grains, just real whole ingredients. Form into little patties for small hands and cook on medium heat in a touch of coconut oil and grass fed butter until golden on the outside and soft in the middle.

Rich in quality protein, healthy fats and DHA for brain development, with a soft texture that’s perfect for babies learning to chew and self feed.

Serve as is with a side of sliced avo and some silky tahini thinned with filtered water and a squeeze of lemon for extra minerals and nourishing fats. Simple, nutrient dense, and completely baby approved 💛

Proper little people fuel right here 🥣

Chicken mince cooked in good homemade stock with steamed zucchini and pumpkin, nice and gentle on little tummies while still packing in the nutrients. Quality protein for growing bodies, natural fats to help soak up all those vitamins, and soft veggies that are easy to chew and digest.

I portion into jars about 100g each, perfect size for bub meals. Straight into the freezer they go so the goodness stays locked in with no nasties added. When it’s time to eat, I reheat the jar gently in a small pot of water over medium heat, then give it a good stir so it warms evenly with no hot spots. Easy, safe, and stress free on busy days.

One of her absolute favourites and honestly it smells so good I’m always hoping there’s a bit left for me too 😄

We’re all stretched for time, I get it. But a little effort in the kitchen goes a long way for our little ones. Most processed foods marketed for babies are just clever packaging, not real nutrition. Simple whole foods, a bit of protein, some healthy fats, that’s the stuff growing bodies actually need. A little love in the kitchen now goes a long way later 🤍
