Meet the two fabulous sign language interpreters that will be interpreting SONGS FROM MY CHILDHOOD on October 22nd. I am proud to call them friends and colleagues. Kathleen and Candace have interpreted numerous shows including concerts, Broadway, off-Broadway and cabaret. Candace was one of the interpreters for my last show, in 2022. Kathleen interpreted my 2017 show. I would not mind if you were focused on their interpretations of my interpretations.

Had a fun time at the 50th anniversary for @stagedoormanor benefitting @alifeinthearts . I regret not being able to stay till the end, the show was much longer than anticipated. And I don't usually go around flashing my boob but I just wanted to show my Stage Door Manor staff shirt from 1985. Check out the staff pic I found unexpectedly taken in The Town Hall by @lisadennettactor

Image descriptions: Four images. 1. A black and white image of a smiling Janis Ian, in front of a microphone, holding a guitar. 2. A slightly blurry black and white photo of the Jackson Five. A young Michael Jackson sits in the middle of his brothers, wearing a hat. 3. Against a black background a young, long-haired Peter Frampton stands in front of a microphone holding an electric guitar. He has two chains around his neck, blue satin pants and an open blue satin jacket with red flowers. 4. A black and white photo of a smiling Natalie Cole looking towards the camera over her shoulder. Her hair is natural and frames her face. by @lisadennettactor

Let's take a look at this self-portrait, shall we? Look carefully. I'm blonde. I've never been blonde. I don't recall ever wanting to be blonde but apparently my little self was already frustrated with my hair enough to want to change it. I have a bow in my hair, I'm sure in an attempt to tame it. I also have only 3 fingers on each hand. At that age, that's all I needed. I'm round, that figures. That thing by my foot? I believe it's supposed to be one of my favorite toys, called a Footsie. I loved that thing. Maybe that's why that leg is thinner than the other. See comments. Ah, childhood. Come reminisce with me on Oct. 22nd.

Image Description: a crayon drawing by a child, me. At the top, written by an adult says This Is Me. My arms are brown, reaching upward, 3 fingers on each hand. I have a big red smile, large brown eyes, a brown nose and barely visible yellow hair with a green bow at the center. My body is round, brown and yellow with red polka dots. One leg is wider than the other. The thinner leg has something at the bottom of the foot (I believe that to be a toy Footsie) by @lisadennettactor

In exactly 2 months I'll be taking the stage at the Green Room 42 with SONGS FROM MY CHILDHOOD. I vow to improve upon this outfit.

I'm wearing a paisley long sleeved shirt in greens and browns against white, with a white skirt and matching long vest. For a very short time I had bangs. I don't remember my hair looking like this very often. I'm looking towards the future in this photo. Here's to taking a look back on October 22nd. Hope to see you there.
