Here's my day 3 #inktobering started on Saturday while at @hardlystrictlybluegrass in San Francisco, added to here & there yesterday and today, and photographed today. @gillianwelchofficial and @davidrawlingsmusic were onstage and the crowd was huge and mighty happy! It's October again, and for me that apparently means it's time for some #inktobering !
This is a drawing made from my morning walk on October 1st, tromping through Lighthouse Field in my beloved @bryrclogs , admiring the beautiful little sea asters strewn all around the field.
Sketched with pencil, inks, including Indigo and pisolithus arrhizus mushroom ink, both handmade by @biohue, and a bit of handmade watercolor paint made by @caseformaking
Since I was working on it last night, here's the daylight photo from today.

Another recent work. This was made on yupo paper, with handmade watercolor paints made by @beampaints and @caseformaking as well as some acrylic gouache, pencil, and ink. Yupo paper is pretty interesting to work with, including how liberating and/or alarming it can be to totally wipe something away that you just painted! Poof, gone! Its unusual interaction with paints and inks fascinates me too.

This one began as some extra yellow paint from another piece just having someplace to land, and that was months ago. I kept bringing out this page as I worked on other pages and slowly it took shape. I used handmade watercolor paints made by @beampaints and @caseformaking along with a bit of pencil. I've been painting a lot more on non-white paper and I've really enjoyed it. It was tricky to photograph this one since it's got a lot of nuance in it, but I've made a few attempts — this was the best attempt so far anyway.

I've got quite a backlog of work to post — it's been so much more engaging to make the art than to post it and be on IG, and a lot of the pieces haven't even been photographed yet. But I'll get around to it. This was made with handmade watercolor paints made by @beampaints and @caseformaking along with a little collage and acrylic gouache.

This appeared recently, a translation of recent rambles in fields, owl-watching, ocean-gazing, sky-eyeing. This was made with attention, haphazardness, delight, crayon, pencil, marker, and handmade paints by @beampaints and @caseformaking

And dear dear Dolly Parton, thank you so much for all of the humanity, humor, beauty, generosity, and sweet music. by @lisaeks
