Lisa had a powerful message to share. At the 2026 Bow Wow Meow Ball, ARF’s Champion of Animals honoree Lisa McCarthy took the stage to shine a light on the realities facing animal shelters across the country.

For more than two decades, Lisa has been a tireless champion for animals and an extraordinary part of the ARF family. From her years of leadership on our Board to her countless efforts behind the scenes, her commitment to giving animals the love, care and second chances they deserve has made an immeasurable difference.

While the Bow Wow Meow Ball was a night to celebrate ARF Hamptons and the incredible community that makes our lifesaving work possible, Lisa reminded us that there is still so much work to be done.

Watch Lisa’s moving speech and hear her call to action for the animals who need us most.

Lisa, thank you for your leadership, your compassion, your friendship, and thank you for using your voice to advocate for animals everywhere. We are so grateful to celebrate you and proud to call you ARF Hamptons 2026 Champion of Animals. 💚 #arfhamptons #adoptdontshop #supportyourlocalshelter taken in Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. by @lisamccarthy117

For more than two decades, Lisa McCarthy has dedicated her time, leadership, and heart to the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, driven by a deep belief in compassion and responsibility toward animals in need and a lifelong commitment to giving a voice to the voiceless.

Lisa became involved with ARF more than twenty years ago, and her early support grew into sustained leadership when she joined the ARF Board in 2003. She later served as President for eight years, helping to guide the organization through a period of meaningful growth while remaining closely connected to its mission and community.

Beyond her board service, Lisa has remained actively engaged in ARF’s signature events, serving on event committees and contributing to the evolution of the Bow Wow Meow Ball. Since its reimagining in ARF’s William P. Rayner Training Center, she has brought her creative eye and attention to detail to the event through her work with Everyday Elegance, along with her partner, co-founder, and fellow Board Member, Alex Papachristidis, elevating the guest experience with thoughtful, tasteful tabletop design that reflects both the spirit of the evening and ARF’s mission.

Lisa’s commitment to animal welfare extends well beyond ARF. She chaired the ASPCA Lunch for five years, further demonstrating her long-standing leadership in support of animal protection. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Humane Society of Vero Beach as Vice President. In 2007, Lisa and her husband, Brian, earned their private pilot’s licenses and went on to fly missions for Animal Rescue Flights, helping transport animals to safety and new homes.

Lisa lives in East Hampton and Vero Beach with her husband and is a devoted mother and grandmother. She has shared her life with five beloved rescue dogs—Katrina, Chai, Hogan, Hudson, and a recent addition to the family, Ollie—whose presence and companionship continue to inspire her passion for rescue.

We are proud to honor Lisa as ARF’s 2026 Champion of Animals in recognition of her decades-long dedication, thoughtful leadership, and unwavering compassion for the animals who depend on us. 💚 #arfhamptons taken in Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. by @lisamccarthy117

Today, Pilots To The Rescue was leaving Essex County for Tennessee on a rescue mission -HOME FOR THE HOLIDAY'S in memory of our beloved rescue dog Hudson who we lost in June. Due to the weather and the air traffic issues the flight was cancelled. These dogs are still arriving tonight @arfhamptons . Rescue Riders @rescueridersllcdrove these animals to Knoxville where they will be transported by Pilots To The Rescue by ground.

A rescue transport of this magnitude takes an enormous amount of coordination . A huge THANK YOU to Juanita and her team @fauna_natchitoches for pulling these animals, to @rescueridersllc @pilotstotherescue for transport and to the incredible @arfhamptons staff who will be meeting them at 1:00 AM-it takes a Village! 🐾🐾🐾🐾 taken in East Hampton, New York by @lisamccarthy117
