A simple and sweet letter on its way to Michelle. I’m still trucking along with my PenPal responses, so a big thank you to those who wrote to me during the Spring and Summer. I appreciate your patience. 🤗 #PenPals #typewrittenletters #snailmail #writemoreletters by @little_inkdrops

It’s Banned Books Week. I drew a little postcard to celebrate with fellow readers. What are you not supposed to be reading? :) I hope you find a book that challenges your thinking. #bannedbooksweek #snailmail #readmorebooks #sendmoremail by @little_inkdrops

One word: see.

Be here now and observe what you see in front of you. Are you sitting at your desk and a computer screen is within arm’s reach? Maybe you are outside and the leaves on the trees are changing a brilliant myriad of colors. Or are you looking up at the sky and it’s blue or gray or purple or filled with clouds or cloudless? Share this moment with your PenPal. You can get creative and include a snapshot of what you see, or use colors to represent what’s in front of you, or write a haiku. Or take guidance from Mary Oliver and share two different sights at two different times of the day (swipe for Oliver’s Look and See poem). Write on, Inkdroppers. #penpalprompts #writingprompts #beherenow #see by @little_inkdrops

Happy World Postcard Day! I love the “Paper Bridges” theme this year. We truly are building paper bridges with every postcard and/or letter we mail out into the world. 🌎💙Many thanks to @adventuring_with_liz who mailed me a few WPD postcards. 🤗 I also printed some which produced two different tones for my postcards. Go figure. Oh well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The art is still beautiful. Happy mailing, folks! #worldpostcardday #penpals #sendmoremail #paperbridges by @little_inkdrops

Spooky season has arrived and I am ready for our annual Halloween card/postcard swap. So, gather your booriffic supplies for a frightfully fun card/postcard swap event. In October, let’s deliver some spooky greetings to our PenPals. Comment “I’m in” by 10/1 to join the event and be placed in a group of no more than 6 writers. This means you’ll prep and mail up to 5 cards or postcards. Include a few sentences about how you plan to get your spook on this holiday. Do you crank eerie tunes? Do you transform your home into a ghoulish delight? Or do you watch horror films to up the creep factor? However you ring in spooky season, may it fill you with joy!

Groups will be announced on 10/2. Spook on, Inkdroppers! 👻🎃 by @little_inkdrops

To kick off spooky season, I recently participated in a super fun @lydiajeanart postcard swap organized by @ronistamps_postcrossing. The vintage postage stamps from @postagestamps4u on Etsy added to the spooky vibe. And I love the Ghost Rhythm washi designed by @ramusandco purchased via @inkandpostcard. Let the Halloween partying commence! 🎃 #spookyseason #halloweenpostcardswap #sendmoremail #happymail #spookymail by @little_inkdrops

We sometimes move through our days hopping from one activity to another without stopping to be mindful of a single moment. If you are prompted to “be here now” what do you see, hear, feel? I’d love for you to share your moment with your PenPal. Maybe you can share a color or a thought or a picture to represent your moment. I hope you find some stillness each month to be present and then reflect on that moment in a letter to your PenPal.

If you’d like to write in October, November, AND December, please comment “I’m in” by 9/30. PenPals will be announced on 10/1. Swipe the slide for more info. by @little_inkdrops
