... I can’t believe I’m actually saying this out loud! 🥹💛 After two whole years of dreaming, creating, and working away behind the scenes, I’m so excited to finally share the most gorgeous book — created to accompany my lovely Playgroup sessions! 🎨🖐️✨

... Beautifully illustrated by the incredibly talented @sianwardillustration, this sweet story follows two little girls who LOVE messy play** — squishing, splashing, creating, and, of course, getting wonderfully messy! 🌈🫧🎨

... This book is such a special little piece of my journey with Little Box, and I honestly can’t wait for you to meet the girls and share their messy adventures with your little ones. 💕

... And yes… I know we’re only just getting into the swing of things, but I’m already thinking about **CHRISTMAS!** 🎄📚✨ I’m planning the loveliest book launch this December, with some very special messy play and story sessions along the way!

... "Wow," said the owl 🦉🦉

... It's a perfect book about a little owl who explores the daytime and then decides that the Nighttime stars 🌟 are the most beautiful of all.

... During this week's session, we explored nocturnal animals 🕷🦉🦇 . We closed the curtains and explored in a dimmed community centre, and I have to say it was super calm (of course it wasn't 😄 🤣).

... OWLS 🦉

... Each week, I usually put out a craft tray, and I am always amazed at how our little messy children turn an invitation to craft into such amazing pieces! 🎨 🖼

... Even tiny fingers can get involved with the help of their carers, so this is a treat for everyone. I secretly love it when adults get involved too and make their own!

... The best bit is that if the glue dribbles or the paint splatters, I will clean it. No carpets are ruined or morning spent cleaning. All you have to do is play 🦉 🌳 🏡

... JUBILEE CENTRE

... What a fabulous end session we had with the Jubilee Centre! We entered a nocturnal world and had fun exploring owls, bats, and spiders! We created owl handprints and read the WOW said the owl book.

... Take a look at what we got up to with the North Halifax Partnership. Keep an eye out for Messy Playgroup as I'm hoping to do more sessions; they truly are amazing in what they offer to new parents in Calderdale.

World Animal Day Collab 🐾

We've been creating autumn animals this term from owls to hedgehogs. And yes I'm including the geuffalo as an autumn animal 😄 🤣

World Animal Day is celebrated every year on October 4 to raise awareness for animal welfare and rights across the world. It coinciding with the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.

Fun fact: Did you know that the early childhood brain produces twice as many neural connections as it will ever need, and PLAY is the exact tool the brain uses to decide which connections to keep? 🧠💥Neuroscientists call this “pruning.” When children engage in hands-on play, they activate multiple senses at once, releasing neurochemicals like dopamine.
