Oops, yesterday makes it Seven (7) Years in Business! No big announcements, but never gonna stop thanking everyone who made the store and venue possible for us and the boys. Actually, there’s one biz in back that always has a great deal of our gratitude, and it’s Tom and Liz at @pourincmke – a mobile bartending and event company. This was never our intended career, so we had a ton to learn. Any time we needed to discuss “how things work” in the industry, they were there to help as collaborators and pals. The first time I had an opportunity to check it out, I was honestly shocked. The space wasn’t just stunning, it also felt so different from other event spaces I’d visited. Since that first experience, I’ve been fortunate to return for holiday parties, an art class, and a work conference; all of which the space accommodated perfectly. What also makes The Dandy stand out is the vintage retail store attached to the venue. It’s truly a one of a kind business in what I believe is a one of a kind neighborhood. Washington Heights is a character filled pocket of Milwaukee that locals can’t get enough of. The shops, cafes, and restaurants lining Vliet St. (including The Dandy) are special and worth your patronage. The September edition of DRAW! will be hosted by @thekingofchalk! *LINK IN PROFILE FOR TICKETS* Danielle Lynne Williams, aka The King of Chalk, is a freelance artist living in Milwaukee, WI. She is the daughter and former apprentice of traditional sign painter, Jeff Williams of the King of Paint. Having grown up in a sign shop, she’s been fascinated with handlettering and design since a young age. She spent many years working as an elementary school teacher, where she developed a love for chalkboard illustration in particular. Her work includes chalkboard menus, banners, storefront windows, and signs of all kinds. Check her out! We’ve made a little change to how we showcase things online — slowly, we’ll be adding clothing and the occasional smalls to D-D-Dandyyyy D-D-Depop! 🟥 This will be a bit different than the clothing drops we’ve done in the past — MUCH more casual and way more phone-in-hand selfie pics modeling the items. SOLD. Mid-Century Kroehler Dining Set w/ Six (6) Chairs and Three (3) Leaves. WOW! This is one of the best dining sets we’ve ever found - both in style and condition. Nearly flawless table with the main and limited age points in the upholstery of two chairs, pictured. 62” long, 41.5” wide, 29” tall - add 12” per leaf extension. However we won’t be putting a fancy set like this on the site, as I imagine many would want to first see it in person. Comment or send a DM if you’re interested! We’ve got music, games, bags, a full bar with specials, and after-hours deals in the store. We have a LOT of new furniture coming in, FYI.
