Running has become so much more than running for me 🏃🏼‍♀️🤍

It’s my passion. My me time.
No judgement. No one else to worry about. No one needing anything from me. Just me, my music, and the road.

It’s where I get to think, reflect and be completely present with myself.

Some days, the hardest part isn’t what my body is doing - it’s overriding the chatter in my own head. The self-doubt. The voice telling me I’m tired, I can’t do it, or I should stop.

And then choosing to keep going anyway.

Running has taught me that I can be stronger than my thoughts. That I can take charge of what’s happening inside my own head, push through the uncomfortable moments and prove to myself that I can do hard things.

And maybe one of my favourite parts is knowing my children are watching me do it too. They get to see their mum set goals, challenge herself, struggle, keep showing up and not give in to herself….

There’s something pretty powerful about that 🥹

This year, running has given me space to breathe, think, reflect and reconnect with myself. It’s become one of the best things I’ve done for me 🫶🏼

No pressure. No comparison. No noise.

Just me, my music, my thoughts… and one foot in front of the other. 🤍🏃🏼‍♀️ by @livefreexo

City to Bay 2026 - 12km | 1:01 | 5:03/km ✨

My first City to Bay 🏃🏽‍♀️ and what a day!! I really wanted that sub 60 and almost got there… but not quite! I’m still so happy with that run 🙌🏽

The best part was getting to run most of it alongside my bestie 🫶🏼 and having my beautiful family waiting for me at the finish line, like they have been all year 🥹❤️

Beautiful weather, good people, happy heart. Life is good 🥰

And that’s my last race for the year! 🏁 I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made with my running this year - the distances I’ve covered, the PBs, the races, and how much stronger I’ve become. I started the year just wanting to run more… and I’m finishing it genuinely proud of what I can do 🥹 taken in Glenelg, South Australia by @livefreexo

Happy Father’s Day to our Number One Dad ❤️ @toddcowie

I look at our life and think… look at us. Look at everything we’ve made.

Before the business, before all the plans, before three little babies were holding our hands, there was just you and me. And now there’s Arlo, Alfie and Poppy - three beautiful little pieces of us - and this big, busy, crazy, beautiful life we’ve built together.

You are the most incredible Dad. You work so hard for our family, you keep us safe, fix absolutely everything, make us laugh, love our babies fiercely, and of course, always say YES when Mummy says NO 😂

Our babies are so lucky that you are their Daddy, and I’m so lucky I get to do this life beside you.

Of everything we’ve built together, this family will always be our greatest achievement 🫶🏼

And if I got to choose all over again, I’d choose this life every single time, as long as it’s with you.

Still you. Still me. Still us. ❤️

Happy Father’s Day, Daddy. We absolutely adore you ✨

Love always,
Jess, Arlo, Alfie & Poppy xxxx by @livefreexo

I asked ChatGPT to predict my future, based on everything it knows about me, Todd, Arlo, Alfie, Poppy, our marriage, our business, the way I parent, the way I work and the way I live my life.

I specifically asked it NOT to worry about hurting my feelings. I wanted the raw, unbiased version.

And bloody hell… some of it got me. 🥹

It told me my biggest problem isn’t capability, it’s capacity.

That I keep fitting more into my life because I can. I’ll organise it, fix it, follow it up, protect everyone, keep the business moving, make the memories, show up for the kids, be a wife, a mum, run the kilometres and somehow keep all the balls in the air.

But my biggest risk is spending 20 years making sure everyone else has an incredible life… and forgetting to leave enough room in it for me.

It predicted Todd and I will still be together decades from now ❤️ but that our biggest threat isn’t falling out of love. It’s becoming so busy running “The Cowie Family” that we forget to just be Jess and Todd.

That one day one of us might have to say, “I miss us.”

And that really hit me.

It predicted Arlo growing into an independent man and me having to learn that sometimes loving him means NOT fighting every battle for him. That there’ll be fewer cuddles, more closed bedroom doors… but that he’ll find his way back to us as an adult. 🥹

That I’ll probably worry about Alfie more than I ever needed to, and he’ll grow up and surprise me, and probably still be the one ringing his mum all the time. 😂❤️

And Poppy… apparently she’s going to humble me. 😂 A strong, independent little girl who might be just enough like her mum to give me a taste of my own medicine. Todd apparently staying WELL out of those arguments. 😂

It predicted Gymfix will grow and change, but eventually Todd and I will realise that revenue isn’t the only measure of a successful business.

Freedom matters too.

Because what’s the point of building a successful business if it consumes the exact life we built it to provide?

And then it took me 20–30 years into the future… (The rest in the comments) taken in Adelaide, South Australia by @livefreexo

21.1KM — MY FIRST HALF MARATHON! 🏃‍♀️🥹🏅❤️

Today I did something I’ve never done before… I ran my first ever half marathon at the Barossa Marathon Festival! 21.1km in 1:57, with an average pace of 5:26/km 🥹🙌🏼 And I am SO bloody proud of myself!

I was really nervous leading into this race. I’ve never run this far before, I’ve had a few little niggles in my body lately, and there was definitely a part of me wondering how today was going to go.

Standing at that start line, it all suddenly felt very real. I remember waving goodbye to Todd as I set off and just feeling completely overwhelmed by the challenge I had set myself. I was already teary — but they were tears of pride. 🥹 I thought, I’m actually doing this.

And then… I LOVED IT. ❤️

My body felt good, I felt strong, and I genuinely enjoyed the run. I tried to take it all in and appreciate what my body was allowing me to do. Every time I ran past Todd and our babies, the tears came again. 🥹 Seeing their little faces cheering for me and knowing my beautiful husband was there supporting me just made my heart feel so full.

And to my husband - thank you for always pushing me, believing in me, supporting my crazy goals and being there cheering louder than anyone. I love that we encourage each other to keep doing things that challenge us and make us better.

I love doing life with you. ❤️

Just love you more than I have words for sweetie 🥹

We also couldn’t have planned our weekend better, having our Leader caravan parked right in the heart of the Barossa. Waking up this morning and being so close to the start line made everything easy, quick and stress-free… which was VERY appreciated considering Todd and I had a textbook example of exactly how not to sleep the night before a half marathon. 😂 Our poor little Poppy wasn’t well and spent basically the entire night in our bed. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 But… the show must go on!

Another goal ticked off for 2026. Another reminder that sometimes the things that scare you a little are the things worth doing most. 💪🏼

Then to come into the finish line and see Todd, my beautiful kids, Mum and Johnny all there cheering me home… what a feeling. 😭❤️ I feel so incredibly lucky taken in Barossa Valley Wine Region by @livefreexo

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of my husband @toddcowie ❤️

And when I say this man is busy, I don’t use that word lightly. Everyone is busy in their own way, but I have genuinely never seen someone work at the capacity and volume that Todd does. He gives so much of himself to his work, to our family, to our three beautiful babies, and to me.

Yet somehow, amongst everything he carries, he still made the time to spend an entire week participating in the 2026 Variety Bash - driving all over South Australia, visiting communities, raising money, bringing joy to kids and giving back to such an incredible cause.

That says so much about the person you are honey 🫶🏼

You work harder than anyone I know, but you are still the dad our kids absolutely adore. You are present with them. You love them fiercely. You are my beautiful husband, my partner in absolutely everything, and someone who would do anything for the people he loves!

We missed you so much while you were away. The kids missed their Dad, I missed my husband, and seeing you come across that finish line and finally having you home with us again meant more than you probably realise ❤️

I hope you know how incredibly loved you are and how grateful we are for everything you do for our little family.

I love you so much. I’m so proud of you, not just for completing the Variety Bash, but for the man you are every single day ✨

Keep being exactly who you are!

We are forever grateful for you, and so bloody happy to have you home and be altogether again ❤️ taken in Port Pirie, South Australia, Australia by @livefreexo

F*#K ME, being an adult woman is a full-time extreme sport. 😂 Just a mum of 3 babies out here trying to keep my shit together 😂

Trying to be a good mum.
A good wife.
Help run my husbands business.
Eat enough protein.
Take my vitamins.
Drink 2 litres of water.
Exercise.
Get 8 hours sleep - LOL.
Remember school shit.
Remember appointments.
Attend birthday parties.
Buy birthday presents.
Do the groceries.
Cook dinner every. fucking. night.
Wash the clothes.
Fold the clothes.
Put away the clothes… eventually.
Keep the house clean.
Keep everyone alive.
Reply to messages I read 4 days ago.
Make plans.
Travel.
Train.
Be present with my kids.
Spend quality time with my husband.
Maintain friendships.
And apparently practise “self-care” somewhere in there too. 😂

Like… EXCUSE ME?!

Whose idea was it that we could fit all of this into 24 hours?!

I’m in my mum-of-three, wife, working, training, travelling in our caravan, doing-all-the-fucking-things era and honestly… I’m managing 😂🤝🏼

I love my life. I love my babies. I love my husband. I’m grateful as hell.

Anyway… better go refill my emotional-support water bottle that I’ve carried around all day and taken approximately three sips from. 💀😂 taken in Adelaide, South Australia by @livefreexo

First race ever… and what a way to start! ✨

Today I tackled the Hills to Henley / City race and, if I’m honest, I was feeling a little nervous this morning.

It wasn’t the distance that worried me - I knew I could run the kilometres. It was everything else. I’d never raced before. Running harder and faster than I normally would, pushing myself outside my comfort zone, weaving through other runners, wondering if I’d get a stitch or hit a wall… I really wanted to do well.

But as soon as I settled into the run, all those nerves disappeared.

I felt strong. I felt comfortable. I trusted my training and just kept moving. And the best part? I finished with a new PB! 🎉 I honestly couldn’t be happier with my pace and how I felt from start to finish.

Seeing my little family after the finish line made it all so worth it. ❤️

Being fit and strong isn’t just for me anymore. It’s for my babies. I want them to grow up watching their mum step outside her comfort zone, work hard, chase goals, and prove that you really can do hard things.

Here’s to the first race of many. 🏅 taken in Bonython Park by @livefreexo

Loving the version of me that’s still growing. 🌱

At the start of this year, I set myself two simple goals: read more and run more. Both are still going strong.

📚 I originally set a goal of reading 5 books this year. I’ve already finished 8, so naturally I had to raise the bar to 10!

🏃🏼‍♀️ When I first started running, 3km felt like a huge challenge. Now, most weeks I’m running at least 12km, and I’ve even signed up for some events that honestly scare me a little…
• Hills to City – 10km
• Barossa Marathon Festival – 21.1km 😅
• City to Bay – 12km

Another big goal we achieved this year was buying our caravan, so we can spend more quality time together as a family and make memories that will last forever. 🫶🏼

One thing I love most is that Todd and I don’t just dream about our goals - we take action. We work together, support each other, keep each other accountable, and always encourage one another to grow, step outside our comfort zones, and try new things.

With three kids, a busy business, and everything life throws at us, we somehow make it all work. It isn’t always easy, but we’re building a life we’re proud of, one goal at a time.

I love the person I’m continually becoming, and I love the example we’re setting for our kids - that hard work, consistency, teamwork, and believing in yourself can take you further than you ever imagined.

Teamwork really does make the dream work. ❤️

To my husband:

We’re gonna make it. It’s just taking us a little longer because nobody handed us a map and not much has been handed to us at all. We’ve had to build so much of this from scratch.

But look at us.

We built a family, we built a home, we built a life that younger versions of us would probably cry happy tears over. We might be tired and stressed and figuring things out as we go sometimes, but we’re doing it, and we’re doing it together. Every hard season, every setback, every stressful night has still led us here.

Id still choose this life with you a million times @toddcowie taken in Mount Gambier, South Australia, Australia by @livefreexo

Happy 6th Birthday to my beautiful, wild Alfie 💙

(AKA Alfredo Sauce, The Sauce, Saucey 😘)

My baby boy, you absolutely melt my heart. Your personality is so bright, funny, silly, cheeky and charming, and you always know exactly how to make us laugh.

You are the most wonderful big brother to Poppy, and your friendship with Arlo is something so special. The two of you are joined at the hip—completely inseparable and truly the best of friends.

You’re growing up so quickly, but you’re still not too big for snuggle cuddles, not too cool for kisses, and you still love when I carry you upstairs to bed each night. Those little moments are some of my favourites, and I hold them so close to my heart.

We are so incredibly proud of the little person you are becoming. A big, confident school boy with a heart of gold, a huge imagination, and so many wonderful friends. Watching you learn, grow, explore and take on the world brings us so much joy.

Never lose that spark, your sense of adventure, your confidence, your kindness, or that cheeky smile that gets you out of almost anything.

You are our little firecracker, and I feel so unbelievably lucky that I get to be your Mumma.

We love you more than words could ever say.

Happy Birthday, darling boy ❤️

Love always,
Mumma, Daddy, Arlo & Poppy xoxo taken in Adelaide, South Australia by @livefreexo
