More from the May trip to ChiTown🤩

It was such a fun weekend to catch up with @grace_mcgrew13 + @eileenvedder 🫶🏼We are grateful to have such an awesome host in one of our favorite cities🤪

Shoutout Heidi + Mike for taking us out for dinner, lunch (happy camper nachos always slay), & to the baseball game!!⚾️🍴🤓

Always a great time with great company😌

Finally getting around to editing this 🤓

Back in May, @grace_mcgrew13 , @eileenvedder , & I ran the Springtime Chicago Half Marathon 🤪🏃🏼‍♀️

Is this how the running influencers do it???

In the last weekend in April, my parents came to visit us in Lexington, KY!🫶🏼

While they were in town, we visited the @thekentuckycastle 🏰 Despite the rain, it was neat to learn about the history & see the cute pups/farm animals🦙🐾

We also all traveled up to Louisville, KY on Saturday, as @cadenalbert68 + my parents cheered me on (after their breakfast) in the Derby Mini Marathon🐎😅 This was my second half marathon & a lot of fun to run with my running pal, Rob😄 Despite the wind, it was cool to run through @churchilldowns & made me want to come back to watch the real Derby very soon🤩

Saturday night called for celebratory @graeters 😍🍦which of course meant Dad had to get his icecream in the @reds hat to bring back for Forty…⚾️🧢❤️🐶

That’s about it (other than the fact that they bought a new mattress to sleep on while they were at our house🤓💤)

This post simply serves as proof that I also did indeed fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico for 1 night the following weekend I got back to Lexington (from the Charleston trip)✈️ This trip marked my 5th consecutive week being in an airport🤣

As the pictures highlight, I didn’t do much exploring this solo trip🤷‍♀️ I presented research at the 2025 Qualitative Research Managment & Organization Conference & that was about it🧐📚

All I can say about this was that these were the the worst flight experiences I’ve had to date…who knew Albuquerque was sooo windy😅

We are on to April, 2025…

Long weekend in Charleston, SC🤭

@cadenalbert68 , Forty, & I drove from Lexington, KY to Chucktown for a long weekend filled with fitness, fun, family, friends, & (wedding) festivities🏃🏼‍♀️🍾🏡🎾💍🤪🎉💒📸☕️

The @cooperriverbridgerun was a success with @cadenalbert68 + @foglemanmichele 🤩 (despite my 🤮 we had a great time!)

Saturday also brought our joint wedding shower @crush.yard w family + friends🍻💌

The next day we did our “no peek” wedding photos w @carrieelizabethphoto 🙈🤟🏼🤍 They turned out sooo good & despite his frustration, @cadenalbert68 did a great job keeping his eyes shut🤪 I was so in love with how the scenery in our favorite spot @collegeofcharleston turned out in these!

The rest of the chick visit was filled with doggie pets, coffee dates, & time with family🥹

Just one weekend after getting back from Europe…

@cadenalbert68 & I flew to Washington, DC to visit with @zach_trainer68 & @magz_trainer_ (& of course, Millie🐶)

We had a blast seeing the picture-perfect cherry blossoms & walking around the city! 🌸🍒🏛️

I also managed to drag @cadenalbert68 into competing in his first Hyrox 💪🏼🏃🏼‍♀️ While I had a fun time, I’m not sure he would say the same😅 but I also love taking on new goals & experiences w the best partner!!🤪

Our final stop on our Spring Break abroad adventure…

MUNICH, GERMANY📍

We spent two nights a short train ride away from the center city with @foglemanmichele @marriottbonvoy points🤪

Munich was so impressive! 😅 Every place you looked, the architecture was insane ⛪️ We spent time looking in all the (extremely old) churches…the detail is amazing🤯🎨 (slides #3 & #7).

We had sum yummy coffee/pastries, pizza, schnitzel, & apparently what they call “lemonade” (but it was simply Sprite😂😅) (slides #6, #9, #11, #12).

We also went up in another tower & saw overwhelming views of the city🗼🤩 (slides #4 & #5).

And of course, we had to catch the Glockenspiel go off in the center square🏯⏰ (slides #1, #2, #8).

Overall, we explored a lot of the city on foot; stumbling into impressive farmer’s markets, visiting the Ressidence of previous royals, & people-watching! 🤗

10/10 trip with @foglemanmichele & glad she got to tour me around some of her old study abroad stomping grounds ⭐️🤪🙌🏻

The second day in Prague was so eventful & unforgettable! 🤩🤯

@foglemanmichele booked us an awesome day-trip from the city that took us to two different hikes/park sections at Bohemia & Saxon Switzerland🥾😍

I’m grateful we packed all our winter gear, because man it would have been cold without it! 🥶(Shoutout @amazonprime for the fleece-lined pants🙌🏻)

The first part of the park was perfect; snow dusting was on the ground & we got to see where Narnia was filmed! 🦁❄️

After a great stop for lunch & a cappuccino to refuel☕️ (& mingle with our tourmates from all over the world), we headed to the next part of the hike! 🚌

The photos at both of these locations truly don’t do it justice…it was like we were walking through a Bob Ross painting🖼️ The land bridge & the views were breathtaking🤪

Up next: final stop on our abroad spring break…🔜

Our next stop on our March adventure abroad…

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC 🇨🇿

We had two nights at the @artdecoimperial hotel, right in the center of the city! 🤩 This place was in a great location & had the coolest decor & finishings.

@foglemanmichele took advantage of our first day, wandering the city for several hours (about 8 miles) of the afternoon/wcening…I truly think there is no better way to see a new place than by getting lost! 🤪

Of course we had to stop in the main square to recreate some of Mom’s old pics (slides #4 & #5) 📸, we climbed up nearly 350 steps of an our church tower & had amazing views (slides #1, #2, #8, #9) ⛪️, we crossed the famous Charles Bridge, which connects the “old & new towns” of Prague (slide #3)🌉, we made our way to the Prague Castle & got to walk the stunning grounds at the top of the hill (slides #6, #7, #10, #11) 🏰, & naturally I had the famous dessert of the city (slide #13)🍦while Mom had her flight (slide #14) 🍻

Overall, Prague is much more metropolitan & spread out than I ever imagined. 🚊The architecture is amazing & gives it an older feel, rather than super overwhelming. 🤗 There surely were a lot of tourists, but we could tell we were lucky traveling in the Winter months! 😅

Up next, our day-trip hike from Prague🔜🥾

Time to play MAJOR catchup…because I wanna use this account more consistently for upcoming adventures!! 🤭🤪

In March, @foglemanmichele took me abroad for my Spring Break! ✈️

Our first stop on our 8 day trip was Berlin. My mom studied abroad in Berlin when she was in college & we were both excited to see how much the city has changed over the years🤓

We spent 3 nights in a great location (shoutout all the @marriotthotels points), only being a short walk away from pretty much everything we wanted to do🕺

Our time in Berlin consisted of a river boat tour, 🛥️ some funky meals (but then also pizza twice that was honestly better than Italy’s #tea), 🍕 doing a fabulous city walking tour (shoutout to the guide who let us pick his brain afterwards), 👀 drank lots of cappuccinos, ☕️ re-created some of @foglemanmichele older photos, 📸 saw the Brandenburg Gate & many other significant sites, 🇩🇪 & went for a run through the biggest park ever!🏃🏼‍♀️

Stay turned for the second stop on our Spring Break “Study” Abroad trip! 🤩

Last weekend, we decided to make @cadenalbert68 dreams come true & drove to North Carolina to see @hawaiimvb 🏐💚🤪

We drove halfway from Lexington, KY on Friday & spent the night in Asheville, NC. On the way there, @cadenalbert68 wanted to stop for dinner at a “local” spot…we ended up at a small burger joint in the Cumberlands. Not the highlight of the trip 😅

After a night in Asheville, we made our way closer to my hometown, as we drive to Salisbury, NC to see UH Mens volleyball vs. @catawbacollege 💪🏼 The match featured UH’s second string kind of dominating but still gave us a great match to watch.

Next, I took @cadenalbert68 to one of my old favorite lunch spots I would frequent during high school - Go Burrito!! 🌯🥰 I think he was impressed with the portion size & taste.

I also took him by my high school to see GSDS, the village of Misenheimer, the guardrail I hit with my car, & to visit the local coffee spot in Richfield (duh) 📚☕️🚗

I then drove us to Charlotte, NC where we checked in for our one-night stay. We got some rest before the match of the trip, as UH’s starters faced off against @queens_mvb 🤩

Of course, after the @hawaiimvb win, @cadenalbert68 made sure to take his time fanboying over the coaches & players. He got lots of signatures & smiles🫶🏼

A fun spontaneous lil weekend road trip for sure! Very cool to see crazy athletes like this in person (that continue to make @cadenalbert68 look like their son) ☺️
