Where the mountains meet the sea and the desert meets the sky 🌙

The cactus here are the elders, standing for centuries, holding together the moving sands of desert, surrounded by lush mountains between one of the most important marine habitats in the world and where the land drops away into the Pacific Ocean. Why we travel differently.
For us, travel has never been about simply seeing more places.

It’s always about connection & understanding them.

We believe the best journeys bring us closer to the land beneath our feet, to the communities who care for it, to the food that grows from it, and to the stories that connect all three.

That is why we are drawn to ecotourism, small farms, local producers, wild places and experiences where we can get our hands dirty. We want to walk through the forest, learn from the farmer, taste something where it grows, understand how it is produced and meet the people whose knowledge makes it possible.

Because somewhere along the way, many of us have become disconnected from the things that sustain us.

Coffee comes from a bag.
Chocolate from a wrapper.
Food from a supermarket.

Travel gives us an extraordinary opportunity to reverse that, even if only for a little while.

In honor of one of our favorite writers, activist, farmer and environmentalist, Wendell Berry, who died this week at the age of 92, spent much of his life asking us to reconsider this relationship. One of his simplest ideas has stayed with us:
“Eating is an agricultural act.” — Wendell Berry

Those few words carry an enormous idea.

Every time we eat or drink something, we participate in a landscape. Somewhere there is soil, water, weather, a farmer, a community and an ecosystem behind it.

Berry argued that learning where our food comes from and knowing the farmers, plants, animals, and landscapes involved in producing, it can restore something that industrial food systems have allowed us to forget.

That is the kind of travel we want to create.

Not travel that consumes a destination, but travel that creates connection to it.

Travel where we learn while we explore. Where local knowledge matters. Where travelers can support people caring for their land rather than displacing them.

Where something as ordinary as your morning coffee or a square of chocolate can become a reminder that we are still profoundly connected to the earth.

Join us in Nicaragua 🇳🇮 in January 2027!

🌴 Tropical - Harvest Season - Coffee & Cacao Immersion + Volcanoes, Lakes & Hikes
💚 COMMENT — “ NICALOVE “ and we will send you the full details & proposal

We’re passionate travellers, storytellers, and land stewards and Nicaragua is our second home.

On our own coffee and cacao farm, we’ve come to understand just how much lies behind two of the world’s most loved rituals: the coffee in your cup each morning and the piece of chocolate you break off at the end of the day.

Behind each is a story of soil and climate, farmers and families, tradition, craft, biodiversity, and generations of knowledge. Coffee and chocolate are more than products on a supermarket shelf, they come from somewhere.
And we think the best way to understand them is to go to the source.

Come to the origin with us! Taste it. Walk it. Meet the people behind it.
And experience Nicaragua through coffee, cacao, culture and adventure.

There's a place in this world that feels like a second home. For us that place is Nicaragua 🇳🇮

This isn't just another destination; it's where the earth's richest flavors—coffee and cacao—begin their journey. And now, we're opening the doors to share our 2nd home with you!

Our Coffee & Cacao Origin Trip isn't a typical tour. It's an invitation to slow down, get your hands dirty, and connect with the soul of these incredible products.

For 9 days, we'll wander from the colonial charm of Granada to the misty highlands of Matagalpa. You'll:
☕️ Harvest coffee beans and roast them with your own hands.
🍫 Grind cacao and taste the purest chocolate you've ever had.
🌋 Hike through volcanic cloud forests and swim in the crystal-clear waters of Laguna de Apoyo.

But the real magic? The people. The stories of the farmers who pour their hearts into every bean. The new friends who will feel like family by the end of the journey.

We're keeping the group small (just 8 to 10 of us), because the best conversations happen around a shared table, not on a crowded bus.

Ready to trade the ordinary for an authentic adventure? The next journey starts January 15, 2027. 🗓️

Click the link in our bio to read the full itinerary and secure your spot. Let's make memories in our second home. ✈️

You said you wanted the real Nicaragua....what if you could travel somewhere not as a tourist… but as our guest?

We’re Itinerō Adventures, and Nicaragua is more than a destination to us.....It’s our home!

We have lived here for many years. We have a home and a small coffee and cacao farm here. And in January 2027, we want to invite you into the Nicaragua that we know and love.
💚
For nine days, we’ll take you deep into the heartland of Nicaragua — following coffee from cherry to cup, and cacao from pod to bar.
💚
You’ll walk through tropical forests and farms, meet the people who grow and create these products, learn the traditional and artisan processes, taste extraordinary coffee and chocolate, and experience what it really means to know where something comes from.
💚
But this isn’t just a coffee and cacao trip.....
💚
Along the way, we’ll explore volcanoes, waterfalls and local markets, stay in beautiful eco-lodges, and travel in a way that supports local communities and the land we love.
💚
Because for us, travel is about more than seeing beautiful places.
💚
It’s about connection with the land and its people.
💚
So, if you’re looking for something different in January 2027…

Come with us.

2 months of endless beauty and some of the most diverse landscapes on earth, all in 1 country!
🦙
Peru has a way of finding you when you are ready for her........ Peru tested me, with many challenges along the way (money, health & distance) balanced out by meeting the most amazing people and the privilege to see so many spectacular places!
🦙
Of course, the wonder of the world draws travellers from all over the world, but beyond the famous city in the sky, lies the raw, unfiltered heart of the Andes:

⛰️ The depths of Colca Canyon & and the beauty of Arequipa
⛰️ The charming & soulful alleyways of the Sacred Valley - Pisac, Ollantaytambo & Urubamba
⛰️ And the wild, untamed north in Huaraz, where the mountains remind you how small we actually are!

This is the Peru that I fell in love with!

Let’s wander slow. Let’s wander deep 🧿

Solo travel | female travel | South America | intrepid travelling by @livelostwander

"Adventure can be an end in itself. Self-discovery is the secret ingredient." #gracelichtenstein

For generations, women were taught that solo travel was reckless, dangerous, or something to be avoided. Yet every day, women around the world are boarding planes alone, crossing borders, navigating foreign cities, and discovering just how capable we really are!!

Here's the frank truth: solo travel isn't always easy. Sometimes I feel lonely.... There will be moments of discomfort, uncertainty, and challenge. But those moments are also where confidence is built.

The world is not perfectly safe. Neither is staying home.

Travel smart. Trust your instincts. Learn some basic language. Take precautions. But don't let fear make decisions for you.

Somewhere along the way, many women were taught to see themselves as vulnerable first and capable second. Solo travel has a way of completely reversing that conditioning.

The greatest gift of traveling alone isn't the places you see, it's discovering that you can rely on yourself.

To every sister & woman waiting for a sign: this is it ✈️🌎
