Okay so I’m starting a new chapter, and it never feels like the right time but here I am.

I’m officially stepping into my journey as an independent artist! I’m opening myself up to new opportunities, commissions, collaborations, and all the beautiful possibilities of creating full-time.

I’m celebrating this chapter with a new print release!

Supporting independent artists is more important than ever. Every artwork purchased is an investment in storytelling, creative freedom, and the ability to keep making work that deserves to exist in this world.

Thank you for growing with me, supporting my practice, and making this possible.

Here’s to making art, living through art, and allowing art to make a living for me.

AND tell your friends about me :) ✨

With love,
LIV

This is the first piece from “Grief IN America” and let me just say, I’ll hold on to the glitter of black men.

“Crying Shoulder” changed the trajectory of my artistic practice.

In 2022, while navigating personal loss and creating in my first studio, I began understanding grief as something layered, colorful, loud, vulnerable and constantly present.

This piece became the doorway into a deeper exploration of Black emotion, collective grief, memory, and healing through my work.

For the first time, I’m releasing a limited print series of Crying Shoulder.

Only 33 prints will be available.

Thank you for supporting my continued work in art and in my community.

Over the past year I’ve been developing my artistic practice, creating in my studio at @thecr8tvhouse , and making what I truly believe is the strongest body of work I’ve created to date.

This will be the final viewing of WHEN SNOWBANKS WERE MOUNTAINS: An Exploration of Grief

Join me for an evening of art, and celebration for not just art but the community that has held me, challenged, and encouraged me throughout this journey. Thank you for witnessing this chapter with me.

Come spend time with the work one last time, connect with one another, and celebrate all that has been created.

ALSO, this would not be possible without @symphonyswanart or @meeeeeyuh love, support and idea builders. Thank you & thank you @thecr8tvhouse for collaboration and powering this journey. taken in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by @livmke

A softer more playfulness to grief, excited to explore grief in romantic love.

How much color, life and exploration my lovers bring me. How my head will stay in the clouds a little too long and the grief in not being chosen. I’m giving all my love a space to breathe in happiness.

My head is in the clouds, which makes me closer to heaven.

My FINAL show is here!!

This body of work explores grief in America through new paintings shaped by memory, mourning, vulnerability, and transformation. During my artist talk, I’ll speak about the evolution of my practice and the new journey I am entering, allowing grief to become both my guide and my material.

If you missed previous shows, that’s okay. Work created throughout my artist residency will also be on display, offering a deeper look into this chapter of my practice.

Thank you to @thecr8tvhouse for holding space for this work, my growth, and this experience. Thank you @meeeeeyuh for being a powerful curator and bringing my visions to life.

See you June 14th
