The Community Arts & Funk Festival is a celebration of art and community, and what better way to honor that than by working with these incredible artists! Thank you to Eric, Avianna, Liv, Emmett, Hydea, Tyrone, Robert, Isaic, Meadow, and Iverson for sharing your talents with Greenwood Park Gallery and Framing. Today was an inspiration.

Hearing from artists in their own words is important and necessary. During the opening of Yearning for Faith to Preserve Myself, to see you Completely New, everyone could feel the power of @billiecarter_ ‘s work. Her work really created a beautiful space for slow looking and reflection.

In collaboration with Lisa, her wonderful mother, each of them shared with intimacy and vulnerability about the exhibition, family, legacy and Billie’s journey as an artist!

During the CR8TV Convo, our artist talk series, each of them flowed through reflections about the past, present and future. Seeing the gallery space filled with deep emotion, care and hope for the future cemented this show as an important contribution to the arts landscape.

Thank you to everyone who spent time in the space and support Billie!
