hello my name is H A N D S T A N D 🙃

the PCT is almostttt here which means I get to be “Handstand” again for the next ~6 months!🤸🏼‍♀️ thought I’d celebrate with some of my favorite handstand pics from over the years… someday I’d like to make a little coffee table book out of these but tbh they are all just lost in the endless black hole that is my camera roll😂 so this was a whole task as it is and I’m sure I missed some good ones🤷🏼‍♀️ also dates/locations are purely reliant on my memory sooo idk I did what I could lol by @lizkidder

big news this week was doing my first single-day Pemi Loop with @lt.cookoobird💪🏼 it was a long/hard day but the F’N CLOUD INVERSION omg😍😍😍 plus we hit peak foliage in NH🍁 also did a couple smaller T25 hikes🥾 enjoyed some tailgate sushi🍣 visited my friend @marksirek in Maine🌊 and weathered a nor’easter w my new awning💁🏼‍♀️ enjoying the fck out of being home🫶🏼

makin’ the rounds + rackin’ up some miles in the whites!🥾 my 4th single-day presi traverse, this time w @lt.cookoobird🐥 even had time for a mid-traverse game of cribbage at mizpah hut… i lost🥺 ran into @i_am_dragonsky (who’s nearing completion of a direttissima!) AND a client/friend (Heather) on top of Washington!⛰️ saw a moose casually cross the road🫎 hit up the Baldface loop (another of the “Terrifying 25” trails)🛘 lots of mushies + starting to see the leaves change!🍁

back on my favorite playground🌲🥾💕

feel like i *just* got back to NH and it’s already been a FULL + fulfilling couple weeks!🫠 re-hiked some classics to remind my knees what white mountain trails feel like🪨 learned first-hand that pine martens exist🦄 joined the hiker trash dream team for my first time up huntington ravine trail⛰️ quality family time on silks ofc🎪 re-painted a fire hydrant🚒 and got “the knock” for my first time ever since living in the jeep iykyk🚔

Mount Sneffels | 14,155 ft

a birthday adventure!🥳 well sorta— had to do it a couple days early bc Colorado thunderstorms are not to f around with⛈️ and thank the lord it was a perfect weather day bc holy sh*t i CANNOT IMAGINE being caught in a storm up there— one of the craziest hikes of my life fr🫠

stay tuned for the future youtube vid on this one because it was WILD! but a quick summary: we’re in the san juan’s. camped at Lower Blue Lake [stunning😍] went up the Southwest Ridge [technical + rock-climby, scary but fun] thanks to the young guys who let me join their group bc wtf🤯 came down the standard route [a loose, terrifying, vertical skree field] and after all that i felt reallyyyy lucky to have lived to see this birthday.😅

Quandary Peak | 14,272 ft

yes i’m aware that per my last post, i was in the hospital, and now suddenly here I am on top of a really big mountain😅 idk what to tell ya— IG is just a highlight reel amirite🤷🏼‍♀️ so yeah, i’m still dealing with some medical issues (will update ya on that eventually) but for the moment, it ain’t keepin’ me off of Colorado’s high peaks⛰️💕

Quandary is now my 3rd 14-er summit!🥳 this one’s fairly short + easy (compared to some of the other 14-ers) so it seemed like a good one to get back on the horse after my ankle-break in the spring, and then being on two wheels for a bit instead of my two feet.👣 it’s also very popular + busy so i started early AF in the dark, enjoyed a quiet sunrise on my way up, and then crossed paths with 385638391 people on the way down.🫠

Great Divide 🚲 day 6-11 | 250+ miles (400+ total)

the pics are nice but the reality is it’s been a really tough week: hot days🥵 trying to dodge afternoon thunderstorms⛈️ so many passes + climbing⛰️ single-track that i had NO BUSINESS being on🚲 tire pressure problems🛞 extreme chaffing😭 getting chased by dogs🐾 …this shit ain’t easy!

but even if it’s kinda cliche— I know that every obstacle, every hard mile.. it’s all helping me grow + making me tougher. and all the misery makes the sunrises that much prettier + the burgers taste that much better. and it’s humbling. i’m very, very, very humbled.😅
