round two in the ADIRONDACKS and another 13 summits for a total of 23/46— halfway there!🥳 I originally intended to do more than that this week, but was caught off guard with how quick the winter conditions came in.❄️ luckily I was somewhat prepared + had microspikes with me, but even still, I got caught on some sketchy spots + ended up bailing on a hike halfway through and opted out of doing an overnight altogether😳 these mountains might not be the tallest, but they’re still remote, rugged + ruthless.🏔️ time to regroup + re-strategize before going back to tackle more!🥾

10 YEARS✨
10 years of dreadlocks! 10 years of growth! And not a single haircut!

Until yesterday!

Not gonna lie cutting these babies was a little terrifying!

But here’s the coolest part of this story…

His dreadlock journey started 10 years ago with @lizkidderstudio who also happens to be the artist that started both of my dreadlock journeys and who taught me how to do dreadlocks!

From teaching me the ropes to trusting me with so many of her clients for nearly 2 years! She’s been such a big part of my own dreadlock journey and I’m so incredibly thankful!! I huge shoutout to the OG!! Thank you Liz! 🖤

And now here we are, 10 years later giving these locs their very first cut!

Talk about a full circle moment!🖤

@thegoodreverend Thank you for trusting me!🖤

We made it to Cascade Locks for Trail Days! This is where PCT hikers come to hang out for a couple days and eat food and shop vendors of all things hiking. The first night Rainier won a limbo contest. We made bubbles for people. We were able to see friends we hadn’t seen in months. And when it was over said goodbye to friends we knew we wouldn’t see again. From our tent we could see The Bridge of the Gods where in a couple days we would walk over to cross into Washington.
