llab.design, Kyiv The studio brings together two bodies of expertise: architect and designer Aleksandr Basenko, and third-generation stonemason Vadim Livshyts, whose family company has worked with stone for three decades. In llab’s work, the geological record of the stone remains part of the design. Each piece retains its own veining, shifts in colour and natural fractures; precise machining then introduces cuts, curves and reliefs into the existing structure. The resulting objects bring together two entirely different measures of time: geological processes unfolding over thousands and millions of years, and a design decision made in the present. This reel marks the beginning of our collaboration with llab.design. Selected works by the Ukrainian studio are now available to order through maybel.pl, with secure international shipping. — Za pracownią stoi połączenie dwóch doświadczeń: Aleksandra Basenko, architekta i projektanta, oraz Vadima Livshytsa, kamieniarza w trzecim pokoleniu, którego rodzinna firma od trzech dekad zajmuje się obróbką kamienia. W pracach llab geologiczny zapis materiału pozostaje częścią projektu. Każdy fragment zachowuje własne żyłowanie, przejścia koloru i naturalne spękania; dopiero precyzyjna obróbka wprowadza w zastaną strukturę cięcia, krzywizny i reliefy. Powstają obiekty, w których spotykają się dwie zupełnie różne miary czasu: procesy geologiczne trwające tysiące i miliony lat oraz decyzja projektanta podejmowana w teraźniejszości. Rolka inauguruje naszą współpracę z llab.design.
