Hi, my name is Jay Sheffers

Being in the scene for over a decade I had the opportunity to observe the many changes that came with the fast growing kizomba community.

About 8 years ago I noticed that female artists and dancers were undervalued and decided to do something about it. I made a group which now counts thousands of ladies who support our cause and each other.

I am happy to see how many bookings we have at some of the best festivals around the globe where we inspire ladies to lead and bring balance on the dance floor and in our beautiful community.

We are often the first point of contact in cases of unwanted behavior in the scene and offer professional psychological counseling as well as legal support. Our Facebook group is a safe space for women to develop mentally, cognitively, emotionally, socially and spiritually. This inspired me to write Toxic Love – A Practical Guide to Recognizing and Responding to Toxic Personalities in Relationships which you can find on Amazon.

We support female artists and organizers and advocate equal pay for women in the scene. We organize #LLDN bootcamps, trainings and workshops all over the world to empower female dancers so that they don't depend on anyone to have a good time. We are building a strong community of dancers with the right attitude who will contribute to a positive change while we grow the scene to the next level and we hope more ladies will join us in our mission. ༻꧂

Welcome to #LLDN - Leading Ladies Dance Network, the oldest and largest network in the world with a focus on women who lead. We created this platform to celebrate you, so feel free to tag us and collaborate with us! 💗

We empower female dj's, teachers, organizers, photographers, videographers, dancers and any other dance related female endeavors. We are a place where women support each other and build each other up.

We inspire ladies to lead and organize workshops, trainings and bootcamps all over the world. We teach at festivals and organize our own events. We welcome bookings from organizers that align with our vision and share the same values.

We are often the first point of contact in cases of unwanted behavior in the scene and offer professional psychological counseling and legal assistance at no cost for the victims and without a waiting list. Our Facebook group #LLDN - Leading Ladies Dance Network is a safe space for women, a private group for ladies only. We welcome you to join.

We are constantly looking for new members for our core team, so please send us a message if you're interested and we'll schedule an interview with one of our team leaders. In addition, we are always looking for volunteers in the area of psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy and legal affairs, so if this is your profession and you have a few hours to spare, please get in touch! 💗

If you dance different styles, you probably know what I mean. 💕Sometimes your body just improvises on its own. Even when I’m dancing Kizomba, I can suddenly feel a movement from another style I’ve danced over the years — and somehow, it just fits the music.

After so many years of dancing, all these styles become a part of my body, my musicality and my way of expressing myself.💃
And honestly, I love those unexpected moments when something new happens right there on the dance floor.

I’m happy to share these little improvisations with my friends, my students, and everyone who enjoys dancing outside the box. ✨
