🐝 My debut kids book ‘Baboo The Unusual Bee’ out NOW with @rocketbirdbooks @harpercollinsuk

POSTS STORIES REELS

🐝💜COVER REVEAL! 💜🐝

Baboo The Unusual Bee is the rhyming story of a little pink bee, who loves to dance. Bullied and ignored by the others he leaves the hive, and discovers (with a little help from a new equally unique friend) that what makes him so different is in fact what makes him special.

At his heart, this is book about celebrating our differences, and realising that rather than being our weaknesses they can be our super powers.

I really hope your kids enjoy reading it as much as mine have when it’s out this sept (you can preorder it now), and that if any of them have been made to feel “othered” that this helps them reframe that in a loving and fun way.

The book has been lovingly illustrated by the utterly magical @ayshatengiz, and I can’t thank our publisher Libby Hamilton of @rocketbirdbooks enough for believing in this story and having the vision to pair myself and Aysha together.

None of this would have happened without my incredible literary agent @adriansington (who my darling @hotpatooties introduced me to)

BABOO THE UNUSUAL BEE will be out September 2023 but is available to pre order now from @waterstones & @bookshop_org (links all in my biog) xx 💜🐝 by @llianabird

Woweeee!! Thank you Berlin! 💜 So delighted to have won the ‘She’s On Fire’ Award alongside @phoebebarran at last night at Berlin’s Female Filmakers Festival for our debut short film ‘Snapshots’. It’s been a much needed little glimmer of nice news - we are beyond thankful. And of course whilst we get to bask in the glory this was a completely collaborative effort so we share this with our entire team💜So grateful to our wonderful cast and crew our producers @jackieanngreen & @sarahnandavies and of course our exec producers @andrewpaulgreen & @abirdinhand & @noel_fielding x x by @llianabird

Happy Halloween angel pies (or should that be devil pies!) 😈 - it truly is the best day of the year and we are so excited to be able to reveal something we’ve been cooking for some time. What started as an idea on a WhatsApp chat many moons ago has now become these gorgeous jumpers (available to pre-order now) and it’s been such a pleasure to work with the incredible Kaylene @wah_wah_australia to bring Noel’s magical works to life in wearable art. Kaylene is an absolute wizard and her small but wondrous team have been beyond amazing and working with them has been such fun. Also special thanks to @amfermy for being an absolute legend throughout. All jumpers knitted from 100% RSW merino certified wool 💜💫 💀 by @llianabird

45 trips around the sun 💫☀️💖 (the point of no return to 40!) - thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes x by @llianabird

Happy Birthday to this beautiful Bean whose energy and lust for life and bravery and kindness always melt my mind. A supersonic Mother and a weaver of stories about Pink Bees and Lonely pumpkins. Choosing love with a mind as sharp as Spock ! Strong enough to lift up those around her when they are fragile and broken. an explorer of the planet the mind and the soul. My partner in crime who leads our magical gang into places of fun and laughter on a daily basis and fills our children’s heads with multi coloured fantasies. An absolute rock of a person who can dance all night long and weep at poetry all at the same time. A pink haired , fierce . treasure head who i’m lucky to call my wife. With a dazzling smile and the best legs in the business. Lips like Steven Tyler and a penchant for all things Bon Jovi Happy Birthday Alf !!! the Spicey Margs are on me x x x 🖤💙❤️🧡💜🩷🩵 x @llianabird by @llianabird

What’s the collective noun for children’s illustrators?? A fabulousness!! So inspiring to be in a room bursting with so much talent at the opening of ‘Nature’ at @the_gallery_at_the_playroom_ organised by the incredible @sharonkingchai - running until 14th June. I especially loved meeting my children’s hero @harrietmuncaster and the one and only @fiona_lumbers who was instrumental in getting my debut kids book published and who I finally got to meet face to face tonight! Congrats Sharon and all who exhibited, do go see it whilst you can xx by @llianabird

Happy happy happy hatching day to our magical, gentle, lyrical, kaleidoscopic angel. Another trip around the sun with you. And we love every little bit of you!! How you immerse yourself so completely in your art. How you cry every single time you hear Joni Mitchell sing cos her lyrics are just so damn beautiful. How your mum and dad remain your absolute best friends. How you will never stop talking about the power of female songwriting and energy. How you truly believe anyone can draw (I can’t! 😂). How you make us all laugh, every single day (even when times get tough). How your heart breaks when your loved ones are in pain. How you have this bewitching power to make the mundane sublime. And most of all, how you live and breath for our girls with them at the forefront of all that you do. We love you. Xx by @llianabird
