The Lincoln Memorial University-School of Medical Sciences (LMU-SMS) Physician Assistant Class of 2024 and the Shipley family have created the Gracie Dru Shipley Memorial Scholarship. Our goal is to provide financial assistance and offset debt for the physician assistant students, create organ donor awareness, and keep Dru’s memory alive by sharing her story. We aim to impact the lives of our students and those in our communities. Giving is not about making a donation but making a difference. Please join us by donating to the Gracie Dru Shipley Memorial Scholarship.

Happy PA Week! 🩺❤️
Even though our Class of 2028 is away from campus this week, we couldn’t let PA Week go by without celebrating the incredible PAs who teach, mentor, inspire, and pave the way for future providers like us.
We’re so grateful for all that you do and excited to one day join this amazing profession! ❤️ by @lmu_paprogram

FEATURE FRIDAY☀️

📍 Hometown: Pennington Gap, Va (just about 40 minutes from campus).

🎓 Undergrad: I earned a B.S. in Clinical Psych from East Tennessee State University with a minor in sociology.

🏥 PCE: 7 years of EMS experience as a paramedic.

🩺 Specialty Interests: Cardiology, pulmonology, and emergency medicine.

✈️ Hobbies: I enjoy hiking, running, yoga/bodyweight fitness, and tabletop gaming.

📚 PA School Advice: Open yourself to new study habits. You may already have a good system to study and prepare for exams, but the volume and intensity is up a few notches in PA school. Try new tactics and see what works for you. Maybe what you’re already doing is enough, maybe you pick up a new habit that makes you a better student, or maybe you end up adopting completely new practices. Everyone is different, so explore new methods to ensure you’re getting the most of your time!

✨ Fun Fact: I enjoy foraging outdoors for Eastern U.S. flora/fungi. I always keep an eye out for seasonal woodland snacks! by @lmu_paprogram
