Become a Mountain
36”x30”
2026

This piece is on view right now at @120710.art until May 1st as part of their Soft Portals exhibition 🦢

“Become a Mountain” is made from a series of paintings on unstretched canvas, connected with grommets and metal rings. The grommets puncture holes through the paintings, disrupting the surface and the image. These holes, or wounds, are also the modes in which each panel connects to the other.

We are porous beings: connected and interdependent, we rely on one another for structure, context, and purpose.

The artwork features three self-portraits, where the artist’s selves play the childhood game “London bridges.” The central figure is flanked by figures with intertwined hands, clasped above the central figure to form an arc. The formation and fragmentation of the piece resembles the stained glass windows you might find in a place of worship. The work considers selfhood as an ongoing process of collaborative meaning-making, within the context of divinity and worship. by @localbluekeeper

Untitled/Olam Ha-Ba

Canvas, oil, acrylic, pastel, shellac, paracord, wood

this piece references the materials and structure of the Sukkah–a temporary hut constructed during the holiday of Sukkot in remembrance of the enclosures built by biblical wanderers. it considers the liminal space of transness, twilight, and diaspora. yearning for a world without borders and strict binaries, seeking to cultivate liminal identities and expansive relationships to land…

In Judaism, we recite the mourner’s kaddish during various occasions in relation to death, including on anniversaries of death.

At the opening for ‘Then & There: queering jewish futures’, I invited visitors to collectively recite the kaddish because every day is the anniversary of a death in Gaza.

Traditionally, the mourner’s kaddish is recited for family members, so it’s said by Jews and for Jews. To say kaddish for Palestinians murdered in Gaza reorients the ethics of kaddish, declaring ourselves obligated toward Palestinians as we would be obligated toward our own family.

Thank you @thebsacks for facilitating this ritual with me and bringing this vital knowledge to our practice. Thank you @portraitsbynicolette for documenting.

May our words of mourning be a call to action. by @localbluekeeper

hello! i am here to announce THEN & THERE: queering jewish futures, an upcoming exhibition I’m curating and showing a painting in! i hope you enjoy this photo of me looking very serious in my studio as you read more about the show….

🌀the opening will be on Thursday, October 16 from 7-10pm
🌀at the ONE gallery (626 N Robertson Blvd, 90069)
🌀on view Oct 16-30
🌀gallery hours are FRIDAY-SUNDAY 1-7pm or by appointment (BlueClaireReinhard@gmail.com)

Then & There: queering jewish futures exhibits the work of Fiona Baler, Esther L. Cohen, Nicki Green, Marcel Marcel, Blue Reinhard, and Dan Schapiro. By bringing together the work of each distinct maker, the exhibition weaves together a collective, albeit patchwork, vision of liberation informed by queer and Jewish epistemologies. Textile, painting, photography, text and sculpture invite viewers to enter a sacred space for rest, prayer, and longing.

The exhibition explores how queer futurity may inform the future of Judaism, directing us to continually recreate Jewish identity and practices through an ardently decolonial politic that cherishes diaspora. By embracing the queer instinct to forge alternative modes of relationality, we find infinite homelands, making collective liberation our Beshert–our destiny and our soulmate.

thank you so much to these amazing artists, i’m so excited and honored to be working with you all!

i’m also thrilled to be joining the One Institute (@oneinstitutela) for #Circa2025, the country’s first and only queer history festival. From October 1-31, celebrate the trailblazing history and culture of queer and trans folks with over 40 programs happening at venues all across Los Angeles!

🌀please RSVP for the opening at the link in my bio!🌀 by @localbluekeeper

here are some stills from my recent participatory performance piece, i wanted to share these in honor of trans day of visibility!
this performance was facilitated by @roryhhhh and the photos were taken by @zoeysmk thank you both so much 🦢

“divine propagation: the beginning is embedded in our flesh” is a ritualized reenactment of the mystic jewish creation story, Sefer Yetzirah. through a series of rituals - also known as a “seder” - participants embodied the mythic creation of the elements: holy breath, earthly wind, water, mud, and heavenly fire. collectively, we turned my body into an altar.

the performance happened on march 14, 2025: my 25th birthday, the holiday Purim, and Shabbat. by blessing shabbat candles, wine, and challah as embodiments of fire, water, and earth, we considered Sefer Yetzirah in relation to Shabbat. the seder also explores birth as divine creation & costume as a spiritually transformative act.

more info and documentation will be available soon on my website!!! thank you to everyone who participated in this collective act of creation, i love you all ❤️❤️❤️ by @localbluekeeper

night falls: day breaks: and the world becomes me (2025)

canvas, polyester fiber, cotton rope, shellac, gouache.

dawn and dusk are the liminal spaces nestled between night and day. this suspended double sided painting is a floating portal that transports us straight from dawn to dusk and back to dawn infinitely — leaving night and day behind. this perpetual transitory state is timeless and boundless. it is a place pregnant with possibility where the lines dividing one thing from another dissolve: we become the world and the world becomes us.

you can see this piece in person at @moryork until february 16, saturday & sunday 11:30-6 or by appointment! dm me to make an appointment <3 by @localbluekeeper
