One Season, One Fit. Style. Confidence. Success:

Menswear is simple; two arms, two legs but real style is built on fit, function, and fabrication. Since 2016, @claycoryan and I have been pushing each other to expand what Foundational American men represent in culture. We don’t need runways; we set trends through utility, necessity, and instinctive taste.

Not about clothes—about character.
Not about style—about purpose.

The flame-retardant PVC suit captures that energy. It protects, performs, and commands attention. It’s armor. It’s foresight. It’s culture you can wear. Not just an outfit, it’s a signal. From the block to the future. For the people cooler than outside.

What I haven’t shared publicly is that since August, while building all this, I’ve been caring for my mother, Kim BLOWE, every single day. Founder of @alpha.omega.dc . My first example of service. In that time, I’ve worn three outfits. Total. The uniform became a discipline that improved clarity, purpose + presence.

People think fashion is about options. But a peacock has one outfit. Cowboys didn’t travel with closets. A samurai is only a warrior when time calls for it. In fact most days he’s a teacher, father, poet, craftsman. The sword is secondary to the spirit.

Wearing the same clothes didn’t shrink my world, it sharpened it. A uniform erases noise. It frees the mind from performing taste so you can focus on becoming who you’re meant to be. And wearing what I manufactured—pieces born from my imagination and labor—grounds me. It’s not consumption. It’s creation.

Caring for my mom has required every tool I’ve earned: hospitality, leadership, timing, emotional intelligence, problem-solving. Being a caretaker is the same as being behind a bar—anticipate needs, steady the room, listen between the lines.

My uniform holds all of that together. Purpose isn’t performance; it’s practice.

What’s funny is only men ever comment on me wearing the same thing. I couldn’t tell you what a man has worn since I dressed my younger brothers. Men recognize consistency because they crave it. They respect a man who looks like he’s on assignment.

This is the post I’ve been waiting to make but I’ve been waiting for the right moment. This is the post to say we did it, we built it, and we self funded it. Beat odd after odd and overcame every obstacle that was sat. I watched so many businesses hang it up and close. You know the kid going crazy with cash on a serious note, and there is no competition because everything is ours! This brother beside me @heggs92, smh words can’t explain the audacious undertaking of starting X owning and operating your own business, handling your quarterly taxes, dealing with code enforcement day in and day out, being at the Secretary of State twice a day, AND NOT BREAKING EVEN! Proud of you my boi. PROUD OF US!

In 2019, I sat in conversation with Ryan Grayson—founder of @localsonlyatl, known to many as Clay & Co. best known as @claycoryan. The dialogue, hosted on @soundcloud, link in bio, captured more than two foundational Americans talking shop—it was a communion between two cultural architects reflecting on purpose, place, and progression. D.C. and Atlanta. Vision and vocation. Print and presence. We’ve inspired our cities by being rooted in them.

Since then, the world has shifted beneath our feet.

We’ve witnessed a global pandemic reshape the economy and our sense of normalcy. Inflation continues to stretch the margins for Black communities already burdened by systemic inequality. Local bloodshed hits our newsfeeds more than the war and religious persecution staining headlines across continents. The cost of living has risen—but so has the cost of silence. And like Marvin, we’re still asking: what’s going on?

Yet in the midst of uncertainty, the universe has made space for us to become the very things we claimed to be. Through faith, creativity, and accountability, I’ve been gifted the chance to live out the vision—daily. And I remain deeply grateful for a brother like Ryan with whom I can explore the pivots and affirm that the process itself is the purpose.

This conversation was ahead of its time—and still right on time because “The Block Is Still Hot”.
