I've gotten pretty creative during lockdown so I thought I'd give it its own space ☺️ if im quiet here youll find me here @march.itecture!

Made my first Blender model! I call him Chris.

Currently trying to learn Blender for architecture and in the process, I used @keelanjon_ YouTube videos to get to grips with the software.

Then I tried to animate the model spinning. I don't know whether Blender is poor at exporting videos or if I did something wrong because a 2-second video took 5hrs+ to render. And the result is not the best but still fun.

Checkered vest 🧊

Started this crochet piece without really knowing how it would end up. To be honest I wanted to use up all the yarn I had laying around. I focused on one thing at a time. First, it was making a lot of squares, then it was joining some of them. Lastly, I connected the pieces in a way I liked. The result was one I would wear so I'm pretty happy with it.

I made a reel of the process so do check it out 😉

Side note: I recommend watching '14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible' it's on Netflix. I watched it while finishing of the vest and it was pretty cool. There's a book too which was even better called 'Beyond Possible'.

💧Inhale💧Exhale💧

Tried out a #modern #style of #henna #art inspired by @dr.azra work. She had so many cool #designs that I wanted to try out. The #Arabic writing henna was the one I liked most because I hadn't seen it anywhere else.

I thought it would be quite difficult to get a #neat result especially using my non dominant hand. The best way for me to find out was to actually give it a go and surprisingly, it was not that hard. I started with thin #Writting then thickened certain areas to create the style (Arabic in #Farsi #font).
The hardest part was coming up with 2 short related words that I liked. @dr.azra had really nice words but I didn't wanna just copy so I had to think real hard.

Henna tip:
I recently found out that it is best to freeze henna when not in use. This will help keep the #stain strong. The longer henna is kept at room temp the less of a stain it creates.
It takes about 15min to defrost.

This is what I captured from beautiful Edinburgh! (I went at the end of July)

I'm starting architecture school this year so I wanted to practice drawing buildings.
It took a lot longer than I thought so I might need some more practice. The trees are looking a little like broccolis but I'm not mad about it.

I started with pencil then gouache then a fine liner.

I like this start but I want to see how I can improve it. If anyone has suggestions, let me know.

Made a bucket hat out of scraps👒

I once saw a tiktok of people using scrap fabric and since then I have kept a little container for all my scraps. I couldn't think of what to do with them but figured a bucket hat would be simple enough and it actually was!

I used @theessentialsclub pattern (thank you for the easy pattern it made my life easier).
I sanwhiches the scraps between a light white fabric and some tulle. The tulle is light blue so it allowed alot of the underneath fabric to show. This means that you can apply this method with any translucent or transparent fabrics.

Improvements:
👒 Lengthen the middle piece
👒 Increase the circumference. My head was pretty small so I thought the pattern would be okay but it's small on me.

Overall the pattern is super cool I want to see if I can make other things with this technique.

My work is exhibited at #whitehall as a part of UCA's 'Interruptions' exhibition! If your free check it out!
You'll see other UCA students work as well. The exhibition will be up until 17th of July.

My work looks into using origami to create shelter. Along with this, I added decorative elements that I am intrested in like marbling and cut outs to create interesting shadows. Inside, you can see the Killick family. They use to live in Whitehall.

My first illustration!
Inspired by the tribal guest houses in Iraq known as 'mathayef'. They are made entirely of reeds.
#illustrator has soo many options that its hard to know where to start or what's the most efficient way to execute. For the same reason it gives the illustrator alot of control. It was difficult at the start but i got pregressively better. There is still alot to learn but I now know the basics.

My brothers wanted a custom controller so I gave it a try 😅
In the end they wanted a #babymilo #kaws statue and a #babyKurama. I didn't know that baby Kurama had 9 tails learnt that when it was too late.😬🙊
I used clear nail polish as the varnish. I'm not sure if that was a good idea but it is a varnish so should somewhat work 😂
I also lost my tiny paintbrush 😟 so I had to use my nail brushes which made it a little messy.
The steps I followed:
🕳️Draw sketch in pencil
🕳️Paint over many layers in #acrylic (some people sand down the controller or rub it with acetone for the colour to stick better but I didn't want to do that because I would have to do it only on the outline of the painting which would be difficult)
🕳️Outline final details with a marker (I painted the outlines on baby milo then realised if I'm going to put clear nail polish I can use marker)
🕳️Varnish!
Learning from my ipad drawing, I realised that I need a varnish if I'm going to use markers otherwise it will stain ur hands🙃.
Overall its a little rough but still pretty cool.
